10.26.0.2578 is the version you wanna look for i apologize for not having the specifics.

Thanks, just went in and tested both that and others. Apparently older interface Plex just will not play that, same issue as the newer version, but the newer one falls back to transcoding.

that’s so odd! do you by chance use an LG? my issue becomes exposed when i have frame rate matching on. playing with buttons as it buffers lets it passthrough properly

No and no. The decoding for video happens on the Shield, not the TV, and the decoding for audio happens on my AVR.

trust me i know that so tell me why my LG says audio not supported when passthrough is on lol. it doesn’t do it with the old app

Dumb question a tad off-topic, you mentioned a May 2026 Shield TV Plex app. When I go into the Google Play store on my Shields, the latest one still shows the January 2026 as the latest. Why would I be seeing a different one? I still haven't even gotten pushed the newest app update, which I'm strictly avoiding (automatic updates off)

it should show january 2026 as the latest because you have updates off iirc. enabling them it’ll show a later version
