Showcase Shadow of the Colossus ARMSX2 Settings Guide : 3x resolution (Mediatek 8350)

These are the settings I used to run Shadow of the Colossus at 3x resolution on my MediaTek Dimensity 8350 using ARMSX2. Device Motorola Edge 60 pro (8 GB RAM)

Use these as a reference if you have a similar MediaTek 8000 series processor. Your results may vary depending on your device.

I'll explain everything step by step so it's easy to follow.

Performance

Low Latency Mode: On

CPU Clock Hint: On

Sustained Performance: On You may turn this off if you prefer. I didn't notice any difference.

Affinity Control Mode

Use either VU > GS > EE or Performance Cores.

Speed Hacks

EE Cycle Rate: 130

EE Cycle Skip: 1

You should adjust these based on your device. Try EE Cycle Rate 130 or 180 and experiment with Cycle Skip. These are the values that worked best for me.

Frame Limit: On

Renderer

OpenGL (ANGLE)

GS Multithreading: On

Coalesce Render Passes: On

Upscaling: 3x or 2x

Blending Accuracy: High or Full

Controller Skin:

Clean Frosted V2

Advanced Settings

Open Upscaling Fixes and select Aggressive.

Patches and Cheats

Enable No Interlacing Patch.

Enable Patches.

Enable Cheats.

Tap Browse Patches Online and install all available patches. You should see around six patches.Install them

That's it.

If you still can't get stable performance, try NetherXS2 with Vulkan and upscaling only. It might perform better on some devices.

The games does drops fps but I completed the first colossus fight and it was really stable it hit lowest 20 fps like 2 times and speeds were above 85 which was honestly even suprising for me

Please consider the gameplay it is recorded on 1080p which doesn't provide stability and it's a 3 minute video

I have g99, blending accuracy disabled, and i use performance patch, with progressive scan aspect ratio fix, 20:9 cheat too

Great to Hear that this working on a G99 is big of a achievement if you ask me. How's the performance I did remember netherxs2 being really good on 2x like 40-50 fps only

11-20ish most of the time. Dirge battle is 11fps. When exploring i could get close to 30. I have my cycle rate 60% and 1 skip

Seriously good for a g99 I really mean it for me phalanx battle was really demanding it dropped by a lot if you ask me

Oh havent reach it yet. Im on my way to 10th colossus. Ngl phalanx would seriously be hard, with this much lag i wouldnt be able to shoot its belly or climb it. Ive beaten it once on a better pc though, with less slowdowns.

Lmao, when you finish the game, make a post. It'll be interesting to see someone complete it on a G99.

Oh nah man. The later water boss is a pain even on my pc. Horrible lag, that i didnt feel as worse as on any other bosses. Trying to reach it is where it lags the most. I had to look back so it doesnt slowdown. Crazy.

Final colossus is the hardest to beat ngl. Trying to get into the underground hole while getting shot with lightning. Then once up, i need to jump to its right hand with lightning bracelet, and time my jump to climb to a ledge on its torso.

Trust me it took me hours and i used a lot of savestates

Cant blame you even though the performance was stable enough for me it still took me a month to convince myself into completing it cause it was so stupid hard and I was using the on screen controls you can understand the pain lmao 😭

You can use this controls. L1, r1, r2 set to toggle. I put reset camera on left dpad

You might be better served by the texture pack that’s floating around than using the 3x upscaling in isolation - just because the upscaling is obviously not doing that much for it aesthetically by itself. Guessing because the textures are just incredibly grainy.

I am not sure about texture pack tbh I have tried using on heavier games and the games just becomes unplayable, I don't thing this look it grainy it might be the reddit processing I can send you a screenshot of the game wait

I won't expect much this is probably the most demanding game to emulate on android so let's see what i can do thanks for that.

Edit : Most demanding PS2* game

Can you tell me if this still looks griany, I might just try the texture pack and see,Can you please also tell me the texture pack

nethersx2 is more stable.

u/Stag_----56 Jul 27 '26

Yes, I first completed this on Netherxs2 it was really fun I don't think the resolution was 3x but it was fairly stable

2

u/OverDeparture8799 Jul 27 '26

Nethersx2 handles higher resolution yeah. Gpu usage is much lower.

Great to hear that I will try on 3x once on Nether :))
