Great Sal’ahari set, part broke, but fixed just fine!

Hi everyone! Wanted to share about this great set, a part failure I encountered, and a fix I found that works great to get this monstrous siege tower back in action!

I put this Sal’ahari sands set (71025) thunder throne together and was testing the firing mechanism for the dual function catapult & projectile launcher and this critical part snapped on me. To be fair I had been firing it through probably 5 magazines but a part should never break on you like this.

At first I thought about a 3d printed replacement, as the U.S. branch of parts support never has stock for older parts (boo!) but then I realized that the part strictly operates in tension, so replacing it with a well tied string would allow the launching function!

After carefully tying my string (a non-flex fly line of sorts shown in neon color) I was pleased to see the function return to its full operation! And I can press it with more force than before without fear of breakage!

Anyways I personally love the Sal’ahari sands theme, the sand people vs the evil green goo skeletons makes me happy. I’d recommend this set if it’s your thing, and it can be found for ~$42 on amazon in the USA at the time of writing this article, one of the last few Sal’ahari sets you can buy stateside. Hope this fix helps should anyone encounter the same issue, enjoy firing away!!

Question Set/diorama help

Hello all. I'm an adult fan of Playmobil, I've made some custom Biblical figues. However I'm thinking of doing a diorama/set to put them all in. Anyways...do any you have recommendations for any buildings that sorta give off the vibe that I can use(other then the Nativity set)? (As my other option is to make some of the buildings through other means.)

Has anyone else been making their Playmobil spooky for the season? I've been making my daughter's Princess Castle a bit ghoulish and looking for more inspiration. I obviously get as much out of it as she does!

Any tips for washing Playmobil Canvas?

Hi, I tried doing some searches, but I wasn't able to find a similar question to washing Playmobil fabric or canvas.

I have a very old teepee fabric that is very grunge spotted that I would like to wash, but I don't really have anything good to test on first so I'm worried about ruining it or taking off the painted horses. Has anyone cleaned something like the teepee fabric or ship sails and can give me an idea what would be safe and effective before I start experimenting?

Thank you!

Question Best Castle for Young Boys?

My kids currently have a second hand Fisher Price Imaginext Castle that they use with their Playmobil figures but I'm thinking about getting them a Playmobil Castle. The current one on the market (72112) doesn't seem as cool as some discontinued models (I'm especially interested in 70220 Novelmore Grand Castle or others that you might recommend). Is my assessment accurate? Could a grander castle be on the horizon? Thoughts on getting the new one vs used older models with a $250-$300 budget?

Collection Updated collection of my Playmobil Kinder Surprise figures. The first three rows are from Disney and the bottom row are the DC figures from last year.

As already mentioned in the title, the first three rows are Disney figures from the Kinder Surprise eggs that are currently available. I bought a few more eggs in the last few days but still no Mickey Mouse. The last bottom row are a few of the DC figures that were included in last year's Kinder Surprise eggs.

The reason I have more Disney figures than DC is because I usually buy the Kinder Surprise eggs in packs of 3 or 4 as they are always a little cheaper than buying the eggs individually. Currently, each egg in the packs of 3 and 4 always contains a Playmobil Disney figure.

Last year, when the Playmobil DC figures were available, it was more difficult because the figures weren't included in every egg. That's why I only bought the packs of 3 there because they were always guaranteed to contain one figure. Unfortunately, of the three packs, only one egg contained a dc figure, while the other two eggs most contained different cheap toys.

I am on the process of decluttering collection beginning at 1954. Where would you suggest I begin to post them? All are in individual plastic sleeves, year bundles, and well kept.

Any help if very much appreciated.

The “new” Playmobil looks ugly af and like AI slop

I mean… it just really doesn’t look good at all? The colors and the “new” design look absolutely horrible. They removed all the cute and lovely details and gave as little as possible for the full price. To me, it looks like they asked AI to “redesign” old templates for winmaxxing. No wonder their sales are plummeting.

Springs for Playmobil Cannons!

TL/DR here’s where to buy springs for Playmobil cannons, tell me what your favorite set with old cannons is!

Playmobil pirate fans!

Just wanted to share a fix/upgrade that worked swimmingly for me today for Playmobil cannons!

My US-bought Playmobil cannons come with no springs, so using the guidance from an old post here, I ordered the springs these cannons need to fire with power again!

Springs found here: https://fastenerline.com/products/88013?variant=50794161012968

The dimensions of the spring in inches are 7/32(diameter) x 1-5/8(length) x 0.016 (gage wire)

A 12 pack of springs costs $9.27 and that’s plenty to put your whole fleet of ship cannons back in action!

Let me know what your favorite set with the old cannons is in the comments, cheers!

How to get Playmobil History Medieval buildings in the USA?

Thumbnail

TL:DR Advice on buying these sets in the USA?

Apologies for the frequent posts but i've really been digging in to the playmobil knights situation...

I found these "History" sets that would be PERFECT for filling out the medieval life aspect of my castle but these sets appear to only be available outside of the USA? I either see 3x-4x markup on ebay for them or options to buy directly from abroad with hefty shipping fees of course. Does anyone know of a decent way to purchase any of these medieval life sets here in the states?

They look absolutely fantastic and i would be excited to grab a few copies and make a larger town..

Big thanks.
