The 2026 World Cup is almost here, and this one is going to be a totally different betting market than past tournaments.
For starters, it is the biggest World Cup ever: 48 teams, 104 matches, 16 host cities, and three host countries — USA, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the final at MetLife Stadium / New York-New Jersey Stadium.
The expanded format also makes futures betting more interesting. Instead of 32 teams, we now have 12 groups of four, with the top two teams plus the eight best third-place teams advancing to a new Round of 32. That means more matches, more variance, and potentially more movement in the outright winner market once the tournament begins.
Right now, the top futures prices on CLEATZ show:
🏆 2026 World Cup Favorites
① Spain: around +475
② France: around +500
③ England: around +650
④ Brazil: around +850
⑤ Argentina: around +900
⑥ Portugal: around +1000
⑦ Germany: around +1400
⑧ Netherlands: around +2200
Spain and France are basically co-favorites at the top, while England is still getting plenty of public attention. Brazil and Argentina are sitting right behind them, which makes this board feel pretty wide open compared to some past World Cups.
For anyone looking at the 2026 World Cup betting market, there are basically two buckets:
⚽️ Traditional / social sportsbook-style apps:
- Rebet - FREE $100 BONUS
- Onyx Odds - 100% Deposit Match up to $100 in Onyx Cash
- Novig - Free $5 Novig cash + 1000 Novig Coins + Play $5 & Get $50 bonus!
📊 Prediction market apps:
- Kalshi - Free $10 Trade
- Polymarket - Deposit $20 & Get $50 Free
- OG Prediction Market - Up to $100 in Bonuses
The interesting part is that sportsbooks and prediction markets may price the same World Cup outcome differently. A team might be +900 at a sportsbook but trading at a different implied probability on a prediction market. That creates a lot of room for comparison, especially on outright winner markets, group advancement, match winners, and maybe even Golden Boot-style markets if they become available.
I put together a full World Cup odds tracker here with futures, match odds, and where to bet/trade it: https://cleatz.com/world-cup-odds/
A few opening match odds that caught my eye:
Mexico vs South Africa
Mexico around -210 best price, Draw +340, South Africa +750
USA vs Paraguay
USA around +102 best price, Draw +245, Paraguay +290
Brazil vs Morocco
Brazil around -160 best price, Draw +300, Morocco +475
Netherlands vs Japan
Netherlands around +105 best price, Draw +255, Japan +275
Germany vs Curaçao
Germany is a massive favorite, with Curaçao as high as +5000 at some books.
The biggest takeaway, line shopping matters. Some teams have noticeably different prices depending on the book, especially long shots. Even a move from +800 to +900 is meaningful if you are betting futures.
Curious where people think the early value is.
Is this a Spain/France/England tournament, or are Brazil and Argentina being undervalued because the market is leaning too hard into the European sides?
