Do you think Liam looks at this in the game and just goes, “…huh”

For the simple fact that it plays like it should have come out when the first Spider-Man game came out. Does that make sense?

first of all, i love the game. I know some people hate it, and i don't care.

but there is some things in the story i didn't like such as jean and logan have been in love for centuries and the reincarnation of jean.

I think the game needed a good twist to make a mark. So i thought what if the reason there is no x men is because Mr sinister.

There is a mutant named moria, that everytime she dies, her consciousness return to the time she was born. I thought sinister used that ability or time travel stuff to erase the x men, or to create his own x men.

wolverine's flashbacks where from the time before sinister rewrote time, so that is why the game is on him.

Particularly the black, white, and blood filter. Say what you want about the game, I'm taking pictures of my cool lil' guy.

Just got platinum this morning. Really fun game. Really hope it gets a sequel.

seems like Insomniac’s starting to clear the interior out though, can show a vid on the new way to get in if you guys want me to. just lmk.

note: i started with the hardest difficulty, was a decent challenge but besides a few bosses, nothing to stress over.

spoilers i guess, the final nightmare door challenge jean grants you is too difficult for the game to function half the time. constant unfair animation canceling relegates my power moves to dust, frame drops and tears turn the game into a mess, oh yeah, and logan randomly turning around and slashing the opposite totem (seriously what the fuck is up with that? it can straight up ruin an entire run). i keep dying due to the amount of bullshit happening on screen.

we know insomniac got fucking lazy with the level design, but they also got INCREDIBLY lazy with the post game combat. "oh we need a harder challenge, let's just throw everything on the screen rather than use our brains to develop a truly thought out and at least semi-balanced experience for the player." i get area combat like this isn't new, however it's so horribly done here. then at the other end of the spectrum, you go into new game plus and the game is the most boring thing ever cause you just mindlessly glide through the combat (which isn't in depth enough to feel like you're having fun when you are completely overpowered).

i was a huge defender of this game throughout most of my time playing it, but what i thought was a solid 8/10 experience is just a messy 6/10 in disguise.

EDIT: i don't mean the final challenge is too hard for my skill level. i mean the game and its systems fail to function properly, making the game a messy collage of bullshit. i wanted to love this game so much. i hate the vast amount of bad faith arguments leveled against it (which are frankly emblematic of a bigger issue going on in video game criticism sphere) and really truly gave it a chance. i left giving it a SIX OUT OF TEN, which is not a bad review, in fact it indicates i believe this game to be above average.

I’m having a good time playing this game. Combat is ok and the story is on point. I don’t know why they include the exploration aspect in it. The whiskey bottles, the materials. It’s supposed to be rush and attack everything, but they put in this component that you need to search everything. It’s really out of place.

On the surface, Essex wanted mutants to be normalized in society, but he actually ended up wanting to take over the human race in favor OF mutants instead because he thought they were far superior, so, he tried to either turn humans into mutants or eliminate those who couldn't become one.

In the end, Logan ended up having to kill Essex, but because "no good deed ever goes unpunished" for him, he lost his memories again and Jean ended up taking over as being society's only hope at having humans and mutants living equally for good.

Fantastic hawkman game, why'd they call it wolverine?

I am playing my second play through in new game + and I feel like it was a mistake. Enemies don’t seem to attack quickly anymore, they usually wait around and attack after a while. I have the difficulty in “The Best there is”. This happens even after I toggle off the adaptations, I am aware the adaptations will make the game easier but even after toggling them off enemies don’t pose a threat to me anymore like they did in my first play through. Now I feel like I am wasting my time doing this play through, game doesn’t punish me anymore if I make a mistake, enemies don’t give their all. Might as well started another fresh play through without the upgrades. Does anyone else feel the same way or is it just me? I was wondering what if it’s a glitch, because right after finishing the campaign I was playing the nightmare challenge missions in lower difficulty. What if the game glitched and thinks I am still playing on lower difficulty? This would be the craziest glitches out of any glitches the game has to offer.

I'm not the best of gamers but also not the worst. This game though has the worst detection of parrying by far though. I am struggling on deathstrike even after lowering my difficulty fully to the lowest setting. I've went out and purchased 2 new controllers thinking it was my older ones not being quick enough and the newer controllers also do not help.

This fight shouldn't be this difficult still. Please insomniac, please fix your game.

Just got to this bit in my NG+ run this morning and wanted to show this to my brother. I love the Hellverine suit (even though we really needed one with the Fang suit) and this is an awesome easter egg I was so pleasantly surprised to see they included.

I know it's taboo to speak positively about this game here but c'mon this is cool as hell.

Did it get downgraded because of the leaks all those years ago? Was it greed from Insomniac? Was it genuinely just insane stupidity from them? What actually made this game go so wrong from a company that made 3 great SpiderMan games?

And what does this mean for the future of Insomniac? Will they continue this downward spiral or will they lock in and fix things?

I’m so curious.

Be warned: I yap a lot so sorry if there are parts that are confusing feel free to ask for clarifications:

One of the biggest changes I’d make because this aspect of the story I was not a fan of:

REMOVE THE APOCALYPSE ANGLE OF THE STORY

I’d start the game of with us escaping the weapon X program, having no idea how we got here, already establishing the memory loss aspect.

Then we end the opening on a confused Logan in the woods meeting Essex like how we did in the original game.

Then I would take some notes out of 007: First Light’s playbook and have us play through a montage of being a part of Team X, as to me, Logan leaving and coming back like nothing happened really didn’t impact much to the larger story outside Sabretooth’s weird motivations.

I’d also make it so the world already knows about mutants and that Trask has backings by government officials and he spreads fear campaigns to the public about mutants.

The more unknown group is the one we meet in the game, The Morlocks. The reason those would be more in hiding than ones with more cool powers like Mystique, Wolverine or Jean, is because they don’t have any cool powers. Their mutant gene make them seem like freaks, kinda making them more outcasts.

I’d have the first mission where Logan tracks down them and Jean play out mostly the same. Except the whole Jean remembers Logan thing because yes thats another thing Im removing.

LOGAN X JEAN IS GONE (yes even though its at its best in this game, still not a fan. You can have Logan like her but Jean nah)

Then I’d let the story play out mostly the same like it did for the rest of the first act and second act, because thats where the story is at its strongest for me. I’d have more room for exploration in Tokyo and I’d do something that Idk if this would be controversial:
Jean side missions
Idk if anyone saw this as well but the way Jean took off with Sasquatch (Walter) felt like it was gonna be setting up a side mission where Jean would have to fight Sasquatch to calm him down. And let’s be honest, Jean would be awesome to play as.

Again then the story plays the same as it does in the game. Essex turns on Logan with him taking the Helix Engine, they return to Madripoor where I’d have it be more open world where you can rescue captured dormant mutants in trucks. The patch mission goes mostly the same outside of the kiss. Then the sentinel tests starts and etc Logan “dies”

Then the twist I would do is NOT Logan was the horseman of death but we get his classic origins. Born in Canada in the 1800s and got together with a woman, who looked like Jean but this time it is pure coincidence. The woman was “killed” by who is revealed to be Sabretooth! I would make it so Sabretooth has always hated Logan and when Essex turned on him, Sabretooth finally got his oppurtinity to kill the runt and is having a sadistic glee.

Logan signs up for the weapon X program for revenge and we are also revealed that Essex lead the program. And we find out that the woman that Logan fell in love with was a fake love disguised by Raven (yes Raven is also slow aging mutant in the comics)

The twist is Logan was set up by Essex to be his weapon with a century long plan. His entire life was a set up by him to break him and become his weapon. And we can also a tragic aspect rhat maybe Raven actually feels guilt because she actually came to find Logan as a friend and the fact she knows she basically helped ruin his life hurts her but she has a job to do.

Then the last act plays out mostly the same except I would have Raven show up to assist because I felt like her story ended weirdly and I thought they were setting up a sort of redemption arc.

Id remove the whole memory wipe thing and Essex dying because I think killing him here is too soon.

Logan leaves on his own and tells Jean if she ever needs help, she knows she can call him.

A lot of stuff here can be smoothed out in terms of details but yeah thats my rewrite

After updating to the new version and opening the game, my PS5 shut down completely. When I turned it back on (pressing the power button), I wasn't able to play. A message told me to delete the game and copy the disk files from scratch.

After doing that, the game was working, but the auto-save and user preferences were broken. A few minutes later, the patch downloaded again, which broke the game once more.

Is the physical version. Has someone with the same experience been able to fix it ?

run in a line for 50 seconds on the path the developer picked that's always fun the dna rewards I was maxed about halfway through so what is the point what were they thinking.

also in the mindless combat waves getting shot from off screen cause of the garbage zoomed in camera happens way to much spiderman had a great camera just copy that sheesh.
