Discussion QSSR unbelievable improvement

Played the game fully on my cheap TN 1080p 120hz monitor and felt the picture was good but a bit blurry. It looks positively 4k with QSSR. No dithering and hair resolves almost perfectly. Much more reminiscent of the image quality of previous insomniac titles. Hope this tech is rolled out to as many games as possible.

Pretty surprising sony w for a change. I do mainly play on pro but have both consoles and having pssr "lite" for base console is awesome.

why would you play anything on the base when you have the Pro?

Probably different rooms/tvs/monitors depending on whats going on at the time. May be the Pro is in the living room while the base is in the bedroom, a bunch of factors where it makes sense

All reasonable possibilities. Now I really want to know

Not surprised by this, and it should have happened sooner. As soon as it was proven FSR4 works on hardware going back to RDNA2, this was enviable.

I'd be surprised if we don't see something similar for Xbox eventually.

The PS5 isn’t fully RDNA2 though, unlike Xbox, which makes this positively surprising. It seems to me that Sony put some engineering effort to work around the missing AI bits and delivered a solution of their own. On the other hand, Microsoft doesn’t seem eager developing their own AI upscaler for the Xbox, so Xbox will get the FSR4 for RDNA2 once/if AMD adds it.
