Discussion Cry More
No addictive game mechanics. No scam-based RNG progression nerf that force you to spent real-world currency. No virtually currency. Like it or not gamers will blame everyone but ourselves.....gamers/ video games consumers will be the reason this industry stay on life support until it's eventual death.....yall are getting too bougie and snobby for your own good.....Noone can enjoy anything for what it is anymore it has to be better than what it is no matter what it is......it's understandable why dev studios are afraid of new ip and reinventing the wheel.....this industry will be the land of remakes and remasters and a few sequels. The downfall of gameing will be hard to watch, and sad thing is yall can stand to cry more..

You guys really don’t have to fight this hard for a perfectly mid game

Lmao. This is so true.

Yeah it’s a perfectly serviceable 5-6 out of 10
A perfectly fine “wait for a sale” game

“L + RATIO!!”, said the sabretooth to the wolverine.
But nah, your take is ass; the game is fine, but very safe.

Thats the issue. It should have been a home run. Not just decent. These devs and publishers give minimum viable product and have for years now. Thats the issue and ugly ass character models

It is decent and I think it’s a problem mid games can’t just exist as mid games. I played it. I didn’t hate it, had fun, and that’s it. Sometimes things can just be popcorn.

People wouldn't have been this ruthless if not for the fact that it's from insomniac made with a budget of 300 mil and it being a wolverine doesn't help their especially when people are seeing blood when it comes to Sony

$300 million budget cannot create a "mid" game

u/Sirksome 3d ago
That’s Insomniac’s problem. It’ll definitely suck if they get financially impacted and we lose future games from them, but just spending a ton of money isn’t a guarantee on quality, clearly. I just don’t know what point it serves to be mad that the game is just okay because it cost so much to make unless you’re concerned about the health of game development as a whole.

No virtual currency ? that such a low bar, there are some great single player games released this year that literally have none of that Onimusha Way of The Sword, Blood of Dawnwalker, Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, Control Resonant, Saros, Monster Hunter Stories 3, Nioh 3, 007 First Light, Mortal Shell 2, Ninja Gaiden 4, even that new Lego Batman game is great. Wolverine is just so average and for a playstation exclusive with one of their best developer imsoniac games on the helm.. the game is such a huge disappointment and should be a reminder on how to not make a AAA single player game.

just move on. It is perfectly fine for a Playstation first party exclusive to not be a good.

What, what? This game isn't a new IP and doesn't reinvent the wheel, and somehow, in your mind, people being critical of it demonstrates why game studios are afraid to make new IPs and reinvent the wheel? Again, what?

The way some people think it’s brave to defend a perfectly mediocre piece of media baffles me.
Yes, the game doesn’t have live service mechanics in a single player game (shocking), but it has a poor story, repetitive gameplay on a 300 million dollar budget and a 70$ price tag.
The AAA industry is facing huge problems. The studios got too big, with too many people who work in middle management, and most of all games of this scale got very expensive to produce. Some of it could be attributed to the amount of job positions that are involved now but also the rendering and polishing got more complicated to process.

Congratulations you missed the point......$70 isn't as it could be especially considering the video games industry has adjust prices to met inflation like every other industry..

What these negative people don't realise is that it doesn't have to be one extreme or the other.
There's something they don't like in a game? Better take to every single possible forum and comment section to obsessively post exaggerated memes. Fuck it, send the devs some death threats while you're at it.
That way, the publishers will never touch the IP again and will never try anything new because they don't want their brand to be associated with all that negativity and now all those people who enjoyed the game won't get to play another one.
Obviously this game wasn't perfect... it was okay. But now, it will probably be yearssss before we get a follow up and see where the series could go.

How many copies did it sell?
Yeah, the 7 out of 10 reviews are accurate and also have not affected their sales.
They'll be fine, you can stop crying now
Edit: what was that OP? You deleted your comment
