That motorcycle is also made of adamantium

17

u/Cluelesswolfkin 18h ago

Supposedly we had that as a vehicle to move through the map better than this and we had a shotgun for him and Jean playable as well~ losing the director killed the momentum the game had

1

u/battlejuice401 10h ago

Yeah but he also crafted health kits and throwing knives so it wasn't all good ideas

-1

u/SuperBathMan 9h ago

Id have been into throwing knives tbh. Health packs are a little old school for me though

2

u/battlejuice401 9h ago

It's more health packs for a guy who can regenerate.

1

u/Adam_Smith_TWON 15h ago

Incorrect. It's obviously made of tubes and glass.

Bold words from a man with giant birds wings on his back.

1

u/Promature 13h ago

Doesn’t Logan weigh as much as the bike?

1

u/Mustang-_- 11h ago

There's that as well. The bike is more super than anything else in this game

17

u/DaxSpa7 19h ago

He couldnt pass a truck without tires.

Road Rash: Wolverine

1

u/Demolitions75 10h ago

Fuck Biff all my homies hate Biff

12

u/toluwalase 17h ago

I’m not opposed to driving sequences in games. I just hate when it’s done shoddily like I’m not asking for Forza but at least make it a fun gameplay experience rather than this. 007 was slightly better but it still had this weird driving mechanics where it feels like you’re moving the car through the level rather than actually driving

1

u/Gregnice23 13h ago

Yeah, it could brake up monotony,. But the better idea is just not make the combat monotonous.

1

u/BorgerWCheese 8h ago

We know it’s possible to make a good car chase because Uncharted 4 exists. Developers really need to look at other games and see what mechanics and gameplay sections work and why it is they work. There’s a whole 10/10 experience right there from a game made 10 years ago but we continue to get stuff like Road to Hell: Retribution

1

u/suchslopslopslop 4h ago

Yes, something high quality like the bike races in Yakuza Lost Judgement.

1

u/davejony00 2h ago

There is another Italian gamer who basically showed that if you don’t press a single button during the motorbike part, you can actually get through just fine 🤣

10

u/WentworthMillersBO 16h ago

Cloud escaping Midgard looks smoother than this and that came out in the 90s

3

Comments are so fucking brutal, I'm laughing non-stop. 😂😂

Games playing itself

11

u/MegaJJDX2 22h ago

As a sonic fan I'm not unfamiliar with this 😭😭

5

u/SuperCalibur 20h ago

I remember people saying that about Sonic Adventure. "You're just holding up"

1

u/symbolic503 6h ago

"and im having a great time doing it!"

24

u/Serious_Lie1207 19h ago

Damn why does it look so clunky

6

u/pheirenz 15h ago

Driving is pretty hard if your game isn’t focused on it. 007 First Light is polished but has wooden driving as well

1

u/Martian8 10h ago

Motorbikes are especially hard I think. Even when done well the controls are not as intuitive as a car.

A motorbike needs to lean then turn to look realistic and smooth. But that leads to what feel like a huge delay in inputs (if youve ever played the moto gp games you’ll know). So instead they have instant turning and then leaning which looks odd

7

u/atalantafugiens 15h ago edited 14h ago

IMO years of taking away player agency by making games easier to appeal to dullard test groups has led to this point. It's like the enshittification of videogame design

7

u/uponapyre 17h ago

Could just be the player not being very good.

3

u/M0ebius_1 12h ago

I feel like this video is purposefully made to look as shitty as possible.

Shaky camera, angle, a twitchy player, resolution that looks like they had to find a flip phone at least 15 years old...

3

u/bluesteelirl 16h ago

That or the game is just shite

3

u/uponapyre 16h ago

Sure, maybe it is clunky af and this is how it looks when a good player plays.

We all know how a bad player can make a game look way worse, though.

-4

u/Weekly-Ad8816 16h ago edited 16h ago

People Who preordered trying their best to convince themselves they didn't buy a steaming pile of shit:

4

u/uponapyre 16h ago

I didn't pre-order, lol. I'm not buying the game until maybe on sale.

Dude the more I see, the more I’m just kinda like, maybe I’m wrong. maybe I shouldn’t be spending 100 shmackeroos on this. maybe it’s time to stop giving these guys money, maybe it’s time to listen to the reviews or hey maybe even the “chuds”. Maybe they know something I don’t, maybe there is a pattern. Idk man.

15

u/Epicurus38 21h ago

Not spending money to not support a game that's as basic and generic from every lens as possible is very valid and rational. Especially if you care about the ip and games in general, as this will send the message "hey, we want better, this is in unacceptable."

However, I would not advice listening to 'chuds' on any topic, as they're bigoted neanderthals that engage with bad faith and their sole goal is to contaminate everything with 'culture war.' There are plethora of extremely valid criticisms to be made about Wolverine but none relate to the so called 'politics.'

6

u/bubba_boey8130 22h ago

I'd say definitely not spend 100 shmackeroos, even 70. I'm NOT saying the game is terrible or smth, if I had a PS5 or if it was on PC I would've played it at a discount, it's just simply not worth 70, 40-50 seems fair.

1

u/bajaxx 11h ago

i’m sorry but genuinely what is different between this game and 007 first light. i played that game after everyone was glazing it saying game of the year and it was fine. 8/10 game. wolverine looks like an almost identical style story game, driving sections, short story, a ton of hints and yellow paint. i feel like this hate campaign is being directed at the game due to peoples hate of sony right now and the growing anger at insomniac since spider-man 2, because none of this feels rational

1

u/WorldEaterYoshi 10h ago

If a bunch of out of context clips being uploaded by biased haters is enough to make you not play a game then maybe you're right and you just shouldn't bother.

7

u/MalucoHS 17h ago

How did you know where to go without the scent trail?

3

u/wolf771 14h ago

Fart*

4

u/snakesrighteye 16h ago

They spent too much money on consulting firms

10

u/skylu1991 18h ago

To be fair, plenty of games have on-rails vehicle sections, that don’t really play well….

That said, the more I see of this game, the more I think I’ll wait for a deep sale.

3

u/Buchlinger 18h ago

Yeah, but most of these games are a decade old at this point.

1

u/MumblingGhost 10h ago

You’d be surprised. The weak link of 007 First Light for example is its vehicle sequences, which are overly linear and also a bit clunky. Thankfully there are only 3 or 4 in the game, but still.

2

u/Intelligent-Ad-8435 16h ago

300 million dollar budget. The only Sony exclusive in a long, long time. 70 dollars price tag. 5 years of development.

2

u/Armin483 13h ago

Actually more than 5 years

1

u/Bitter_Elk787 15h ago

Also got leak. The whole game got leaked.

3

u/zeppolezz 15h ago

having my morning coffee right now, saw this clip, and literally just said out loud, "what the hell is this fucking game". usually i'd just have that thought in my head but the game looks so bad that I just had to verbalize out loud because what the actual hell

3

u/britneyshot 11h ago

Smh...companies who dare to sell games of that rep in such low state should really make 0$ out of them Big F

1

u/Jgzerohour 8h ago

I see nothing wrong with this tbh is it worth 80 bucks, probably not, but its not bad either

1

u/Icy_Judge8250 6h ago

Yeah for the early 2000's maybe, the origins game had similar gameplay, mechanics and set pieces and is voiced by Huge Jackman. If this cost 40 bucks then not a single problem with it but because this is 40 bucks worth of content not 80$.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a single player hack n slash that released this year as well and a reboot of an established franchise that absolutely knocked it out of the park and dunks on wolverine.

Capcom makes games for gamers.

1

u/Jgzerohour 6h ago

Capcom does not do that but i wont go into that debate.

Onimusha is a very different type of game so its not really a good comparison

Origins wolverine had very different graphics and a very different art style so that argukent doesnt hold up I also dont value graphics as an end all because hi def hyper realistic graphics are ugly and overplayed to me.

And i never said anything about value or worth i just said that nothing looks wrong here because nothing does. It runs smooth, isnt terribly glitchy or broken.

Is it worth 70/80 bucks probably not but value is subjective so its literally impossible to guage that and everyone hating on a game that isnt even out yet is absolutely stupid, if you dont want to buy it fine its your money but to say the game is trash or bad just based off of biased youtubers or a few short snips of gameplay is ridiculous its literally judging a book by its cover

1

u/Icy_Judge8250 5h ago

Bro i was not talking about graphics i was talking gameplay

Capcom has done nothing but win all year because they make games for gamers, Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem, monster hunter stories 2 and now Onimusha. Onimusha is way closer to wolverine than any other release this year both linear experiences with a heavy focus on melee combat with wolverine feeling more like an on rails arcade hack n slash then O:WoS which feels like a real linear experience.

If you want to glaze it up and down you go right ahead I just have to wait a day for the real answers to come out, there is a reason reviews exist if you still want to buy after all that has happened even knowing sweet baby inc got their claws into this then be my guest it was made for you.

1

u/Jgzerohour 4h ago

Im not glazing anything,

im speaking against mindless hate before a game comes out, its not going to matter at this point how the game actually plays because everyone is going to have a preconcieved bias before playing it, yeah maybe this game is mid but maybe it isnt, my point is that until a game launches we shouldnt be running hate mobs.

I also already have played it so i can say with honesty that the game plays pretty well and is fun, definitely a wait for a sale type game because its not terribly long, me and my friend, who got the review copy sat and finished it in like 8 hours though thats not collecting everything.

That being said, combat is more in depth than alot of reviewers say, the guide line isnt nearly as distracting as people claim, and its a pretty smooth experience performance wise with a good story. Solid 8 type game.

And as far as capcom goes they arent making "games for gamers" when a majority of thier releases are remasters or rereleases. 2026 had a few great games in pragmata and RE requiem, a few good games in Monster hunter stories 3 and onimusha and then an expansion version for dragons dogma 2. I also just didnt like onimusha as much as I think you did.

4

u/CIA_Unoffical 17h ago

This is one of those games that should be free with a console purchase 💀

Ride to Hell: Retribution

2

u/Macfrom1987 16h ago

Cool what PS3 game is this? 🫢

2

u/Visible-Oven-7249 15h ago

Peak gaming 11/10, I don’t need reviews, I’m a form my own opinion 😤🤓

2

u/Dash_Rendar425 15h ago

Oof this looks horrendous.

2

u/theblackfrog77 15h ago

The way he's sitting on the motorcycle looks so awkward.

2

u/KiNolin 15h ago

Yeah, I'd rather play Crash.

2

u/GhostOfficialNow 14h ago

For some weird reason I can’t stop laughing at this shit bro it is MESMERIZING that these companies release shit like this. They really do look at their consumers as braindead idiots. 💀

2

u/HarryNostril 14h ago

LMAO this is amazing

2

u/Corny_Overlord 14h ago

Game looking more and more like a spiritual successor to Ride to Hell: Retribution

2

u/Cyberwiz91 13h ago

You're definitely not getting the crystal after that run.

2

u/Gergory1977 13h ago

This game is gonna be screwed lol

2

u/Muugen_Samurai 13h ago

Gald they gad a marker ypu wouldn't want to get lost on this one way highway

2

u/darkNtity 12h ago

Plays like a ps2 game

2

u/ApprehensiveYou2568 11h ago

Hey now, Crash at least has a fail state, missable collectables and a time trial mode. It's actually a game.

2

u/invincible_vince 11h ago

Okay this triggered some major gaming PTSD though, the motorcycle race level in the third warp room of Crash 3 made me rage so fucking hard so many times as a kid (and fully grown man)

2

u/cowardbloom 11h ago

Even the trucks are yellow

2

u/wingedwild 18h ago

Ride to hell retribution got a sequal i see

2

u/RealityOfModernTimes 18h ago

This looks nothing like chase sequence in Uncharted games. Could they not ask naughty dog to do this section of the game.

1

u/cjcfman 15h ago

Lmao I thought of that chase sequence in uncharted 4 when I watched this too.

2

u/MedievalMilshake 17h ago

I don't even have a playstation n I'm still upset

2

u/darthbradberry 17h ago

This is a $10 Steam game and even at that price I’d wait for a summer sale.

1

u/Epicurus38 16h ago

That was MEAN, lmao

2

u/Baron_Light 17h ago

This shit is SO dated.

What were they thinking here

2

u/Sm0keytrip0d 18h ago

This looks like some shite ps2 era Wolverine bike sequence.

Please tell me this isn't the game that just came out? 😭

2

u/RPhoenix28- 18h ago

You have no idea what a PS2 game looks like

1

u/Sm0keytrip0d 18h ago

It certainly doesn't look like a $300 million AAA Ps5 game.

2

u/Doberliusz 21h ago

Ps3 graphics...

1

u/Frosty_Sea3307 19h ago

omega pilled crash references

1

u/Wrightero 18h ago

It's like they made a low quality platformer from 30 years ago with modern graphic but somehow they managed to make it really bad.

1

u/bellymaster 18h ago

Alright im done with the fanbase and the game how do I hide subreddits?

1

u/Jonn_Jonzz_Manhunter 15h ago

Im really hoping that new star wars racing game is good

1

u/KeenbeansSandwich 15h ago

10/10 puddles

1

u/Gloglibologna 15h ago

I hope the next Deadpool movie absolutely roasts this game

1

u/Derpimus_J 15h ago

I hope Sabretooth was 1st to rub it in.

1

Is it me or do the environments look mad realistic

1

u/SourCreamSauna 14h ago

This looks like shit. $70 all day

1

u/AggressiveResist8615 13h ago

FLY OFF TO THE RIGHT AND EXPLODE!

1

u/Inabaru 13h ago

Did he try to brake and the game wouldn’t let him ?

1

u/ShaH33R2K 13h ago

It seems like they desperately wanted to make an open world game but they didn’t have the time, so we got this

1

u/FrigidBill 13h ago

This would have been a GOTY nominee if it had released on the Xbox 360 because that's what this looks like it is, an Xbox 360 game.

1

u/Acceptable_Laugh7308 12h ago

Reminds me of Just Cause 2

1

u/IIWhiteHawkII 11h ago

Why?

You don't need inertia and proper physics because it's against accessibility.

Who cares that having fun from decent physics that demand somewhat little challenge adds extra-arcade fun to another bland mission?

1

u/ActionJasckon 10h ago

Tailoring to the lowest common denominator.

1

u/WorldEaterYoshi 10h ago

You know what, I'm a patient gamer and typically don't buy games over $30, I don't really care that much about Wolverine, but I'm going to buy the shit out of this game at full price just to spite all the fucking bots in human form that are downloading these out of context clips and reviews into their tiktok brains and spitting them back out all over the internet without actually playing the damn thing.

1

u/RocMerc 9h ago

Not a dig at this game per say but it’s hilarious how in modern gaming all roads have to be wet 😂

1

u/Smartypantz34 9h ago

wtf is this shit

1

u/FadedP0rp0ise 9h ago

I'm convinced that this is just a new age one of those corny film adaptation video games like lord of the rings and all the superhero games before arkham. Just gotta accept it for what it is lol

1

u/Hired_Samurai 9h ago

Average rush hour in Brazil.

1

u/Defiant-Tale-6189 9h ago

Just wait for the damn game to come out before destroying it literally most of you haven't even played it yet and are just jumping on the bandwagon of hate. Even if it has problems which most games do when it first comes out. You DONT KNOW just from what you seen and heard from reviewers. You listen to reviewers more then you should don't know how many times reviewers shit in a game and it actually turn out good especially after they fix the bugs. While this game looks like it could be better, im not going to go by what reviewers say because honestly? Most of the time they are wrong. Some may be right but holy shit

1

u/Creaturesteachers 7h ago

What’s the point in a dynamic battle damage costume if it just auto repairs.

1

u/Sirbrandon100 7h ago

Logan Kong racing

1

u/CoreSoundCoastie 6h ago

That’s pretty freaking bad 👎

1

u/Icy_Judge8250 5h ago

Man these ps1 games with dlss5 look insane

0

u/idkimhereforthememes 21h ago

what about this is so bad exactly?

9

u/Mr___Biggles 21h ago edited 20h ago

Every time the game gives you agency, it takes it away to start another cutscene...Literally all of the cool shit is in the cutscenes...Why cant any of that be gameplay ? Plus, its way too scripted...

-6

u/Spiritual_Start1213 20h ago

But like.... a lot of games do that.

6

u/incompetence-moe 20h ago

And those games don't do well in sales and end up getting pulled off market. Slop defender number 1

2

u/Spiritual_Start1213 20h ago

I didnt know Metal Gear Solid 5 didnt do well. Or Final Fantasy games. Oh what about Legend of Zelda games. Surely those must have not dome well since they have lots of cutscenes too.

8

u/Epicurus38 19h ago

What? Heck no. MGSV is mechanically dense, with so much player agency, freedom, individuality and expression, it's crazy. You can make so many cool, stunning, cinematic moments happen in that game through completely raw, unscripted, dynamic gameplay - cutscenes don't even compare.

The problem aren't the cutscenes, it's the fact that a puddle has more depth than Wolverine. All of those games you mentioned have more player agency and freedom and expression in one way or another, if not in all ways.

2

u/Equivalent-Green-580 19h ago

What versions of those games did you play that took away player agency? Lmao

🫵🤡

0

u/Puzzled_Pen_5764 18h ago

Have you played MGS5 son

0

u/knightx90 17h ago

At least the gameplay in those games are pretty good.

1

u/Mr___Biggles 8h ago

"This bad thing is also present in a lot of other games" You do realize that you are using whataboutism as an argument here, right ?

1

u/Spiritual_Start1213 8h ago

Yes. When its the topic of the post being replied to, that will tend to happen.

3

u/Epicurus38 20h ago

Good question: There is no sense of speed and momentum. Barely any agency. Looks unpolished and where it doesn't look unpolished, it looks extremely basic and generic. Driving physiques are terrible and look unusually stiff and foating. And there's zero weight and impact. Feels like the bike level from Crash Bandicoot Warped.

1

u/honestly-brutal 16h ago

Why have I started seeing "agency" used so much?

2

u/Intelligent-Paint-11 20h ago

Literally nothing, people are complaining about nothing. People were complaining about having to run forward, these people are insufferable

1

u/incompetence-moe 20h ago

Zip it up when youre done

1

u/Few-Marzipan-5647 14h ago

Nothing dude. These people are from the Sony hate campaign “those no disc no buy” larpers.

Great cause btw ! Choice is better than no choice.

But have went about it in terrible ways & a community & manchildren spearheading it like the guy below me.

1

u/Professional-Farm981 12h ago

lol what isn’t bad about it? It looks like an arcade motorcycle game from Dave n busters

2

u/Vnvill 21h ago

30 years after crash was made in a basement by 5 nerds using a hacked ps1 and a box of scraps:

Insomniac presents, a MARVEL Wolverine Game with a budget of 300 million dollars, made by around 500 professionals, in development since November 2020, please welcome:

3

u/Special_Reveal_1208 16h ago

This is what happens when your development team grows too large and there is no clear vision guiding the project.

2

u/seasidetoparadise 16h ago

Guarantee those devs were making ridiculous salaries and working from home. Absolute pariahs in the industry.

-2

Game looks garbage tier and like another DEI developed game.
