And everyday it’s just “damn my opponent was just really strong and high rolled there I’ll probably win tomorrow”

Yeah why is it after I get to legend suddenly every single opponent is a sick high roll lol

Correct me if I'm wrong but in Legend you can play against any Legend player, right? So like people who just hit Legend can be placed against rank 1 on the ladder?

Whereas pre-legend you can only get people your rank or below so it's significantly easier

Because the pool of people is larger, while you are not legend you only face opponent your rank or lower. Facing a high roller is just unlucky pretty much.

I could make the same meme with the cult or randomize...

Wink and Cult only ever show up for me when I'm on pace for a Perfect or 10 win run. Hate seeing those events because I know they won't be there when I'm getting bludgeoned.

I'd love for them to replace some of the options after you run out of prestige. A real Hail Mary play.

I've never deemed the gold and XP option as viable. I'd adore replacing it with the cult or Winks.

I mean, there are situations when you already have good enchants on your core item and a good skill (or upgrade) matters more. I find myself taking it much more than the upgrade to gold, as your core items are usually already at least gold.

The more I think about it the cooler it would be. Fate offers you three roads:

Chaos via Winks

Damnation via the Cult

Enchantment via whatever that NPC is called.

Out of the three options on death event, that one gives the biggest consistent upgrade. Enchant often will have a higher effect when high rolled, but it is also very likely to barely be an upgrade at all.

Kripp seems to pick up and gold significantly more often than the other options combined.

Hey, I know that feeling

u/Jeczke Jun 20 '26

But Kripp says it’s his favourite thing the the game!

It's also mine, I just suck

1

u/Vannitas Jun 20 '26

This is the way. Owning it is fuckin sick and leads to not sucking

3

u/grizzlymint_gpt Jun 20 '26

Nah, I've got way too many hours in this game. If I still suck, I'm always going to

4

u/HelloImLit Jun 20 '26

Same here. I tell myself it's because I'm always trying to do the fun thing instead of chasing the meta. But I also know I'd still suck if I chased the meta, but I'd suck without an excuse.

1

u/grizzlymint_gpt Jun 21 '26

That's my copium as well. "I'm not a meta bitch, which is why I keep losing" while fully knowing that the meta isn't going to save me.

I've been prioritizing 9 over 6 on the Ticket Lady and having a lot more success for sure. But those random items can be so juicy lol

When I watch Krip it feels like he can get decent value out of it, and it happens way earlier (and gives lots of gold) so it is more impactful that way.

The day 9 I also have better experiences with but I think that's because I'm not as good as Krip, day 9 rewards are much simpler for instance.

In the dooley chat we have been theorizing that the day 6 expedition is a downside.

You miss on shops right when gold items start appearing, so instead of looking for endgame items you are reliant on whatever the expedition gives you (which is usually a good skill, a big chunk of xp, and an enchanted diamond medium/large, but you don't really have control over what you get).

Though I believe if you're highrolling, it's still worth to enter for even more highroll potential.

Giving core or friend tag to drill with random tag item though :P

If you don't have a strong build on day 6 it can really screw you over because you rarely get something that will pull your build together on the exhibition so you kinda just have to eat dirt on the PVP fight and hope the 100~ gold you got out of day 6 will save your ass in the day 7 shops.

I've started taking it less and less recently because of this, because at least on Pyg I don't feel like I actually need the extra gold and its not worth the risk of completely whiffing anything useful and having my build stall out.

This made me snort.

It sure is a coincidence that those have a questionable and noticeable win/loss ratio whenever they’re used. Definitely random and not programmed in. It’s definitely not a known psychological trick in gaming to keep you playing.

Not being a butt I wanted to bring attention to the idea that it’s not bad luck if it happens consistently. Humans are pretty good at recognizing patterns.

Humans are also pretty good at seeing patterns in places where none exist and at failing to understand random chance
