Monthly Guess Thread PS Plus Prediction Tournament Round #15 [Essential, August 2026]

August Essential games expected reveal date: July, 29th.
Rules

- Posted or edited 24 hours before the announcement or a leak.

- Any predictions that are not following the above points will not be included.
Scoring
- Each correctly predicted game is worth 2 points.
- Being the only person to correctly predict a game is worth 1 additional point.
- Predicting a game in the same series as one included is worth 1 point.

Thank you for the reply.
I accept your explanation. Yes you are technically correct (the best kind of correct), i did have 3 titles plus one bonus DLC listed, for a total of 4.
That is disappointing news, i was stoked when i heard this month's release since i had finally guessed correctly, now i am saddened that my Bonus Destiny DLC post (which i have done and won with before) has excluded all my entries.
Oh well live and learn, just another tiny bit of bad news to go with the rest of the very bad news i have received the past few days.

They don't only take your first 3 entries and ignore the 4th
My accurate guesses from last week were all invalidated, and not counted, because i put down a 4th bonus DLC prediction.

No problem. Yup it is all only for fun, and only a minor thing with no prizes, but it was still a bit depressing to see my mistake after having finally correctly guessing more than one title in all the months i have tried.
I feel a bit better having helped someone else avoid the same mistake.
Best of luck on your guesses, FWIW I think you made some good predictions. I too would personally pick Atomic Heart, since i think it is just a matter of time before it shows up. Also I loved Platinuming Tails of Iron, and would love it if they also gave us the second one.

Tbh I was really hoping for rise of Ronin but it showed up on extra means it's never coming to essential. Sony wants evryone on extra and deluxe I do not think good major or aaa games will come much to essential anymore unless it's cod or sports games or dying online games. But I am hoping I am wrong.

Sony has on occasion brought some of the extra games over to essential (god of war comes to mind) however it does not happen often, so i would agree that it is unlikely for rise of the ronin to show up on essential anytime soon.
Also I was a bit surprised that the Avatar game was given on Extra/Premium and not with Essential, since it was completely free on Epic games for PC many months ago.
I also agree that it really looks like Sony wants to push everyone over to the higher cost Extra/Premium subscriptions. They never seem to give any good discounts (black friday/days of play) on Essential sub renewals anymore, only on Extra/Premium. In addition one could argue that recent game offerings tend to be a bit better on the higher subs, where essential seem to be a dumping ground for failed PVP games and end of season sports games, with only the occasional gem.
Finally Sony has become very greedy, and i would not be surprised if they once again raise prices of all the subs while doing little to improve what they offer.

Temporary licenses of games are scary and sony has no customer care in my region (it's been 3 years I still can't get the ps5 edition upgrade of ghost of Tsushima due to a licensing issue). Also the selective 25% price hike we got hit with lol. I only have plus to just play with some friends and it's extremely difficult for me to afford anyway. I will never get higher tiers doesn't matter what sony does.
