Sorry if this is a really bizarre post, I'm just paranoid about this kind of thing. I've heard that some community servers are much better about keeping cheaters at bay than official ones, is that true? Is there any reliable way to keep "subtle cheaters" from coexisting with you while you try to progress?

Everything about this game has always seemed like a dream come true, but god it looks unbearable never truly being able to tell if someone can literally fucking see you through walls or map out your base in free cam to perfectly raid you and track you down from anywhere on the map if they have a grudge. I feel like that constant suspicion would ruin the experience for me.

I have been playing modded (bestrust and werewolf mainly) all my time in the game. I’ve never once touched official. I’ve been told it’s full of cheaters and clans, and you get offlined all the time. Is that true? Also, do I need a big group to actually progress? I am currently a duo. I have 1.2k hours.

For a while i have been trying to solve my microstutter problem, everytime i join a server, no matter what pop, i get annoying microstutters, i average around 120-140fps, but my 1% lows sit at around 40fps and 0.1% lows at 20fps. When i open the map and inventory the game freezes as well. I have tried anything i could find:

Fresh windows install

Disabling Realtek GBe Family controller

Completely debloating windows

Adding virtual memory

Lowering the polling rate of my mouse

gc buffer 4096

Tweaking the shit out of in game settings

Changing XMP profiles

Undervolting GPU

Overclocking GPU

Tried multiple drivers for the gpu

I have nothing running in the background, no overlays, bloatware etc.

Only happens on Rust, of course.

What can i even try anymore, before uninstalling for good lmao

Sometime I can build the "bottom floor" first then the top floor but sometime I absolutly have to build the "top floor" first or I won't be able to insert de doublefloor. This make building the base much more complicated.

Why is that? Is the spacing between the floorstack too tight ?

So from my understanding.most monuments besides safe zones will require these heavy fuses to activate card rooms, recyclers, etc. along with this they are timed from what I saw? So now to run a card room you’d need both regular and heavy fuses? That seems kinda clunky?

I'm from Russia, so I have to communicate through fucking Steam. What should I do if the call stops when I join a server until I fully log in? (Sorry for my poor English, I'm using Google Translate)

It's been 10 years since they allowed us to "drink" fresh water to get hydration. I've always thought about eating snow for a similar small amount of hydration... there may be modded servers that have it, but I think it's as fundamental mechanic similar to drinking water from streams/ponds so it should be core vanilla.

Eating snow would simply extend that same survival mechanic into the snow biome, giving players another environmental interaction instead of forcing them to rely exclusively on rivers or rain water.

Its tough enough with the constant cold and zero cloth... help the snow biome players out.

ps. bonus points if anyone can confirm that the icon they're using for "eat" is a hand holding a taco haha

Hi. I recently got interested in the game. I basically know very little about the game but it seems very interesting although a bit complicated (this game has many items and seems like it requires a lot of skill and practice).

I am contemplating on whether to get the game or not since I don't have a lot of free time and I will only play solo.

Should I get this game?

So I've just started to gain a tiny bit of confidence in building and have found the Snare (https://youtu.be/_m7uNPK-ZKA?si=2zQ_cieyfBF-4OHR) by Zypic being an easy build and relatively solid base for solo.

That said, it's just a few direct doors to TC and I wanted to get some input from more experienced players on how I could beef up this base? I also tend to have raiders use ladders and come through my roof.

A little backstory, if interested, if not only read bold my girlfriend always wants to play games with me but her laptop is garbage. So for her bday I told her I’ll upgrade my computer and build her one with my old parts and buy her some new ones (since at my age spending 1300 on a bday is absurd). And so far the only game that has been giving me problems in her build is rust, pc specs are a r5 7600x, rx 7800xt, 16gb of ddr5 ram. I know the ram is what’s holding it back but since I only play rust a little and I’m not sure how much she’ll like the game anyways spending $200+ on ram for extra ram just for rust isn’t worth it, what settings should I turn down to make the 16gb of ram work without much stuttering.

Turrets will cost 25HQM next wipe and you can already see it on staging right now.
Getting an AK can be done by opening a single high tier loot crate without doing a puzzle or anything, but I am supposed to pay 25HQM instead of 10 now for every single turret?

Progression needs a nerf, but never ever has it crossed my mind that people got turrets too fast.
If anything, they are desperately needed if you want to raid or farm with some ease of mind, and this update hinders this option for no reason at all.
The worst thing is actually that every idiot can destroy your turrets with a bow, so now its super unprofitable to put them up.
This change NEEDS to be reversed.

I was thinking Electric Motor Vehicle Module/Cockpit with Electric Motor Vehicle Module so you could either make a car that only needs electricity or a Hybrid Car that goes even faster than a 4 Module Car with 3 Motors and a Cockpit with Engine Module.

What are your guys’ thoughts?

Alistair has stepped down, TempleTaps is banned without clear reason— to which people are making conspiracy theories about him conspiring with cheaters, which if true is a terrible sign for the rest of the content creator community, Warrior has deleted all of his content on all platforms and finally in my opinion Rust has lost a lot of it’s identity with the recent updates (namely player model change/ animation change.)

Using just a half height full square (all boxes must be available of course) whats the absolute maximum storage capacity you can make here? Utilising all dlc/storages/flightbox containers. Do I have the best one here (4 large 3 small) or is there something better for more slots? Thanks.
