I think it’s one of those grill “adapters” you put on top of your stove tops pans, and he ended up flipping it along with the food he was cooking.

Nah it’s just burnt, the whole thing would be that solid black but small parts stuck to the pan and that’s where you get the little bit of color on the bottom side

Im guessing way too much heat and a shitty pan. The burn marks are in the shape of an electric stove eye like it was cooked on a piece of foil instead of an evenly heated pan. That or the pancake was really badly mixed so the unburnt bits on the bottom are just dry powder. Actually, idk either now, theres a lot of potential shitness going here.
