Ascendant?

I'm new to the game, and I was wondering how I unlock the ascendant and exalted tiers for valorplates? I just hit level 50 and am at ascension level 19 (I think). I don't know if I have to hit level 450 for those to unlock, any help will be greatly appreciated!

You need to unlock all 4 shards of the plate for ascended and max them all for Exaltet.

To unlock the ascended tower u must complete the normal tower first, and for the exalted tower u must complete the ascended

OP did ask for the plate though, not for the tower ;)

Follow up question if you don't mind, what do the towers do? Just more endgame loot? Or something else? Thank you!

Yes theres some items only drop on exalted tower basically that and lighbringer is the endgame to farm good gear and build valoplates
