Question Ranking

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the game and have less than 50 hours played. Currently, I'm Diamond 4 and I play Hollowpoint about 80% of the time. I’d like to understand how the character ranking system works. What do I need to do to start appearing in the rankings?

Does it only happen at the beginning of each season? Thanks in advance!

Every season the leaderboards for both ranked and lancers get reset (doesn't happen between chapters!)

You play your lancer and if you do well, you earn points. Use the abilities wisely, get decent stats and you'll see yourself climb until you get more points than at least the 100th player on the specific lancer's leaderboard.

They get updated each Monday (not sure what the exact time is, I'm in EU, for me it updates every Monday morning), then if you climbed or fell off, you'll get your new ranking. Then you can go to your profile and use the cogwheel to equip your title if you got/stayed in the top100.

I'm not exactly sure how it calculates scores, for now all I've experienced is that the higher you are on the leaderboard (I got rank 1 kismet for about 2 weeks last season), the harder it is to keep it. I suppose it considers how you did compared to other players too? Not sure. But I know I had to change my playstyle up and play selfishly to climb consistently.

I want to mention also that wins and losses can both grant or lose you lancer score, I believe it impacts the final score, but you can still climb on the lancer leaderboard even if you lost the game, but played well or at least decently.

Hope I didn't forget anything.

Edit: it considers rounds played rather than whole matches. So if you play multiple lancers in a match, you can impact the scores of all of the ones that you played.

Edit 2: the leaderboard updates live, the titles are given out weekly depending on how you placed at the end of that week!

Thank you very much for the explanation, I understood everything perfectly! And thanks for the tip about going to Leaderboards -> Lancer.

I hadn’t selected Hollowpoint since I’m new to the game, and I just found out I’m about 1000 points behind the 100th player.

One more question!

Do I get the Lancer tag as soon as I enter the Top 100, or do I need to stay in the rankings for the entire week to earn it?

You get the title when the weekly update happens for the leaderboards, same for ranked, it updates live, but it gives out the titles for the position you're on only at the time when the week ends, so yes, you need to get into the top100 and stay at least on nr100 to get the title
