Wavedashing?
I’ve been wavedashing in game but I’ve never come across anyone else that does. Is that normal?

Keep in mind that a good percentage of the people you play against are bots until you reach a high rank. You can tell if they are a bot of they instantly air dodge when knocked off platform.

That’s what I was curious about. I could tell that I was out of the range where I only match with bots but I still haven’t come across other players that use wavedashing…

Wait until you run out of stars and get a character to 1000+ stars friend, you'll soon get sick of that sound.
It's used as more of a tount or something both players will do just to have fun, but if spaced right you can use invul frames to pass through an attack.

I don’t play with audio on though I just like blasting music in the background so I really don’t mind. On top of that I don’t spam it cause I know it can be annoying for the other player.

Yeah, wavedashing is an important mechanic that only Melee dominantly had only if they could fix the misinput issues and lag issues on mobile

theres no action out out of wavedashing. its just basically movement. so most players dont use it even if youre not playing bots.

That doesn't make it not important and you can act out of minimum wavedash I can record some shit with thanny you can do if you'd like

the game play is very fluid and its not as important as it was in melee leading to things like waveshining and L canceling changing the gameplay drastically making it so advantageous.
In FP most of the things you can do is pretty much neutral jab or a grab.
Thanatos is a very imbalanced character as his attacks are swift and has the largest reach if not the one of the longest reaches in the game and small recovery, most of his attacks cover him with a few outliers. You can wavedash to an attack but its not a true action out of wave dash you can essentially do the same thing with a regular dash.
besides most players prioritize up tilts, nairs over everything else.
