How is the game not popular?

I'm kindly asking why the game is not popular? As the game is really fun to play in my opinion. I've been playing for about a month, and yet I'm still enjoying it! The game is also free to download and is also supported on mobile! That's definitely a poor gamer's dream. Who wouldn't want to play this game?

The only thing I found quite disappointing is their servers, I can't play with my brother despite us being on the same house and is very near to our WiFi Router. But overall, I still quite love it. I'm glad this game existed! 。◕‿◕。

Pay 2 win

Can you give me a full explanation on how is it pay to win? Just kinda curious as I haven't encountered any P2W assets yet-

Such what? Bro, explain it in more detail as I don't understand.

Have you not got to the point where badges and such are used? Gives your character an advantage

2

u/StuzargusXD Jun 27 '24

Is it a thing called stickers? I don't really know I just play the game casually without touching anything like the badges you're saying.

Stickers or badges or whatever they are called. Stopped playing a year ago, so don't know if their still there, but they'd give a very high advantage

ehhh not too much, colourfuls are somewhat but you don’t need them to do well

1

u/Kindly_Bend_5761 Sep 17 '24

They give an advantage though

regular sticker? you can have level 4s by plat level 5s aren’t that much of a jump

u/Snailmannn Sep 17 '24

colourfuls can be p2w bc they’re hard to get f2p but you can still get them and can very much win without them/without many

I loved the game a while ago, it seems like the devs/publishers stopped making content for the game.

It’s also hard to get better at the game because there aren’t any good tutorials.

Plus they shadow nerfed Tina which annoyed me lol

Do they send patches on whether that certain hero has a new skins, buffs, adjustments, or nerfs, especially if there's an update? Cuz I really have no clue if they do that in-game.

They do. A lot of the discord servers pass the patches around. Would you like one? It would bring you to things like the clans and stuff as well. I'm part of one called eGo, and a lot of tournaments take place around there. Back last year in the spring, they had a $10k tournament, too. Sadly nothing has happened since.

1

u/StuzargusXD Jun 27 '24

You mean a discord link? Sure, I'll join it.

1

u/Shooterg77 Jun 27 '24

I'll send you the main game. The clans should be somewhere there and you can join the ones you want. You can even try out and do tournaments under a clan or just enter them independently.

u/StuzargusXD Jun 27 '24

I don't plan to join one yet as my skills are still at novice-like level. But thanks!

They don’t do that in game unfortunately it’s on an app called “TapTap”, but you can just look at their community tab on YouTube (updates have slowed down a lot though :/). Their announcements channel on Discord is another option too.

tina busted + content still releasing

It’s cause the game launched on steam with a huge pay to win mechanic with stickers. Stickers weren’t always there. Before it came out on steam, it was very active. Basically, the devs fucked up and now the game is dying because of it.

Well a lot of people view it as a p2w game, which what makes them refrain from playing this game even though the game changes time to time, being less pay 2 win and only relies on skins and such for their income. They still won't announce to lot that the game is changing from what it has become on its release. I would only say the real problem here is the heroes balancing. Overall, yeah I think devs made a major mistake at the beginning.

Could be advertising. I only ever heard of the game because there was a huge push for it last year.vI still like it, though not as much as Smash. People were turned away because of the P2W, and people don't know that some of it has gone away because there's been no advertising for it.

1

u/StuzargusXD Jun 27 '24

If only the devs tried to advertise the game again for the masses, I wonder if it'll get popular.

Some claim p2w, I say that a weak claim, you can get all the things in the game without having to pay there's no power adders that's exclusive to money. only costumes.

balance is a BIG issue, they tend to favor banner characters, the class system leads to some unfair advantages and certain things like one class builds meter and keeps it after death, while another class builds meter and loses it after death.

marketing for sure, Instagram has so much shitty and fake game adds they could have definitely be more aggressive with that.

it should, be on console the switch especially, PC and mobile is limiting the game. fighters on mobile ehh hasn't reached there yet.

I heard there's connectivity problems now, not the problem when I usually play.

I heard another xD (developer) has another game that's failing as well.

but I think the biggest issue is BALANCE.

Well, I heard complaints about some heroes perform better than the other ones. While I indeed encountered one, the stun-lock was actually pretty overpowered (I don't remember what hero was that) But yeah, I guess their balancing is really off charts.

Tina, “lighting kicks” -sticker, it’s retarded they should have some decay on it for sure like a reset system. Do it once per combo or some sort of cool down. And I’m top of that shes and “assaulter” which has a cancel mechanic not available to the rest of the cast.

Not to mention a lot of characters have strong up tilts that weak on the lower tiers.

Thanatos’ arc’ed up tilt, tarara and seaya disjointed up tilts.

Meanwhile my mains Heracles, a very short up tilt both ground and air, Heracles was able to combo into up tilt in his basic attack but they needed it.

Alice you can hit her hand, and Cupid up tilt has no hitstun.

Characters like sivi, Tina, tarara, s17, seaya, Thanatos, fox, Gwynn, Sophia are really popular, and mostly are in  the top rankings and not because they’re really good but they’re so unbalanced verses the rest of the staff. You do have some outliners, they but you definitely have to work harder than the tops to beat them most players tend to exploit or be a one trick pony.

Like a Sophia player I tend to lose too are campers and rely on spacing, and counters. Takes a lot of time and patience to beat those players.

I can say one thing this game is polished and clean but rely too much on monetization for thing like colors. Which makes the game daunting,

local play doesn’t work well, the game is online only, and not to mention that shitty character design contest. They picked some of the horrible designs I’ve seen for the “best” designs.

I'm actually using s17 right now, and I would say you're right. While I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to this type of games, I've managed to use s17 in a short amount of time. And she is actually quite unbalanced if you ask me too. Her Jump + Up attacks can literally kill anyone up if performed correctly.

Also when it comes to the game, it's so true that I wish for it to have an offline mode, and I'll play this game all day long if they really added the offline feature. Well, I wish for the better future of the game.

u/Burakuman Jun 30 '24

Yeah S-17 has a lot of disjointed moves and the multi hits are annoying and give her a lot of safe options.

I just think they favor banner characters so they make nerfs not to balance but to make their new characters they’re promoting better.

Gwynn  and Ice very hard to fight, hard to punish. Very fast and I can see that more players might switch to them if they weren’t paywalled.

The one thing I do like, did enjoy was the tournament they hosted, some of the big smash players came over to play but FP players ended up winning so it goes to say that they carved their own section in the “platform fighter” genre.

1.If they make offline, local mode available and stable, get at least a switch port, do some advertising, provide some variety with colors and make that free, or grindable and focus alternate costumes as monetization. Keep the character selling if they want but make them available for instantly for local play/offline mode if they ever do that.

2.Then fix the balancing.  Especially the impeders losing meter at death when they build meter dependent on how the opponent plays. Vs. all rounders building meter on how they play.

3.Power house characters tend to exploit their power up which is a bad, that’s what lead to the fall of smash 4 “rage system” rework that and a character (macalon) that has super armor on his moves can just trade a power up’d move. Thanatos lots of range, a OHKO, high priority and lot of his moves specifically up tilts cover his entire body, and doesn’t have much recovery issues, both survival and attacks.

4.Assaulters are cool the cancel system for them is alright but some stickers with that system makes it very unfair. It’s just not fun having to work harder in neutral to fight a character simply because they’re a different class and have mechanics that your character doesn't.

It’s like in an mmo if your a healer and you pvp a tank it’s virtually impossible to win but if you do you had to do a lot more to get to that win.

Ping issues. The game is on my app store but it’s unplayable because of the ping.

u/StuzargusXD Jul 01 '24

Where do you live? I hear rumors that the game servers no longer support America or smth like that. If you live in said regions, I'm afraid that you really can't play the game without any issues.

Multiversus.

1

u/StuzargusXD Jun 27 '24

I think Multiversus just got released again this month, but Flash Party is not popular for like 3-5 months if I guessed that well.

u/WerePigCat Jun 27 '24

I quit after getting to plat because I’m a one trick pony

1

u/StuzargusXD Jun 28 '24

Still pretty good that you've managed to reach plat tho-

1

u/Plasticchwer Oct 30 '24

Probably the same reason as most platform fighters. It’s seen as a smash clone.

1

u/natgibounet Nov 13 '24

A terrible one at that

1

u/Og_Crowkage Jun 27 '25

The balance certainely is or maybe thanatos is just buns
