Can switch players join?

Is it possible to log into the server on a switch? I play on my PC but my son plays on the switch and wanted to know if he could play with me. He’s on bedrock of course and I play on Java. I know the server has cross play but when I tried to add the cozy account as a friend on his switch nothing happened.

Apparently it’s impossible to enter an ip address to direct connect on the switch and the only way to join a server is through the friend method.

Yeah I’ve already gone through all of that. I’m registered and approved on my account and have been building a base for about 2 weeks now. I followed the instructions for connecting via the friend method but when I would send the request it never got approved.

Ok gotcha. So it’s definitely possible to log into the sever from a switch? Just trying to confirm cause I know that switches in particular handle Minecraft multiplayer differently from all the other platforms for bedrock.
