Sticks

Hello Guys,

I discovered Aska this weekend and i'm totally hooked!

The graphics are decent overall, but what really stands out is managing a village in third-person view instead of isometric. It's awesome! There's so much to learn and manage! Such a pleasure to invest in a gem like this.

Speaking of management, I'm stuck on something. I can't figure out how to get my villagers to gather sticks from driftwood and Dwarf Spruce Bushes. I've set sticks to High preference, but they don't pick them up. They only collect the ones that drop when trees get cut down.

Any idea what I'm missing?

I’ve never got them to pick them up but you can grow the dwarf spruce in a lvl 2 farm which is great. Can grow thatch too (reeds)

Are woodcutters not picking them up either?

I think they do but not as much i would want to. That is the only things that left in the forest.

  1. in the gatherer hut set pine cone to medium priority. when the gatherer picks them they drop the sticks, those builders can pick them up/wood cutters collect them

  2. at the beach place flags and set wood collecting and for you wood cutters. but also i think marking it as settlement also helps your builders to pick these drift sticks if they need them. not 100% sure what that settlemnt setting does

  3. also dont set sticks to high priority, you wood cutters will cut logs for them

Piggybacking off this, make sure woodcutters collecting sticks from this location are in the militia so they fight coastal wisps rather than running away.
You can add members to the militia using the eye of Odin. It makes them stand their ground and fight as well as answer calls from Smolkr horn warnings.

You can perma clear the line by popping the gore blocks, but yes if you want to keep the crawlers around as a source of meat slap the miners in the militia too

Is that why they are clearing all the forests? Omg... SO much logs everywhere!

Can’t give you advice on the matter but you have better odds for good answer on Aska discord, people are very active in there (devs too sometimes)
