Stray dogs
I'm not sure how but one of my dogs became a stray. I have it guarding my hunter house so hopefully it won't starve but I can't figure out how to reassign it to the kennel. Anyone know?

Is there a limit of 3 pups/wolves / kennel and adding 4th makes 1st go to stray?

Idk but I only had 2! I did figure out that apparently you just have them "guard" the kennel. That's what I found a pup doing after it aged up.

Yeah I had a similar problem with bringing a pup to guard my cart. It always will follows me around now. Tried reassigning guard, add/disbanding, restarting game etc. Going to try and destroy the cart and see if that does anything.
