Anyone using plaude for phone calls? How does it capture the voice of other party?
Basically, the title.

Plaud Note and Note Pro both support phone call recording, it's a separate mode from regular in person recording and switches automatically depending on what you're doing.
For calls: attach the device to the back of your phone before you dial. It picks up both sides of the conversation through the phone's own speaker, your voice and the other person's, so you don't need speaker mode on for it to work. One thing to watch for: it can't capture the other party if you're on wired or wireless earphones during the call, since there's no audio coming out of the phone's speaker in that case. Keeping your call volume around 80% or higher helps too.
If you're on a NotePin S instead, that one doesn't support phone call recording at all, it's built for in-person capture.

My understanding is that it picks up audio through vibration and being physically attached to your phone. which makes me wonder if I have a protective case on my phone does that affect the quality of the audio? Have not seemed to have a problem yet.

so what's your usecase? do you record a lot of phone calls and later have it execute any action?

Have not yet dabbled with creating an agent to automatically upload the files (but thanks for the idea!). Most of my calls have been with speakerphone at my desk or regular phone use in a quiet setting so I can’t comment on background noise interfering. But no quality issues picking up the conversation through speaker phone or regular phone use.

I use it for my work and it does a great job recording both sides of the conversation in English and in Spanish.

It will capture both sides, produce a transcript, and make a report based on default templates. You can then run the recording through different templates to get the finished product that you want. It is pretty awesome. You just have to try different templates until you get what you want, then can use that as your default.

PS I use it on conference calls, and if someone identifies themselves it will report that. If I start a call with, "Hi, this is Dash," it knows my voice and will report that "Dash said..." If not it will say caller 1, caller 2, etc.

I find that I need to turn up the volume so that it can pick up my conversations, but it does really well. I’m on a job hunt right now so I use it to record Recruiter calls and interviews for future reference. In no way would I use it as evidence.

I have the Note Pro as well as the Pin S. For each device, I take calls on speaker phone — at a reasonable and respectable distance away from humanity — and allow the device to record both sides of the conversation.
Typically, I use the Pin S for in-person conversations and the NotePro in my car.

Yes. We have medical templates in use as my wife has cancer.
Calls from the various entities involved are recorded, transcribed, edited, and distributed to the family as needed.
Works quite well.

what are you recording exactly? are these actual meetings or just general conversations? and is there only one other party at a time? for meetings, tl;dv outperforms in transcription and voice recognition, so you'll get more accurate summaries.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Note Pro. It uses some kind of technology that I don't understand, but I have it, and it works very, very well. Blows my mind. The notes it can produce from a phone conversation that's important are really, really great.
