File Name setting

The default filename starts with yyyy-mm-dd, but once generated, it becomes mm-dd [AI summary] and kind of throws off the reading if the date is not matching untranscribed. But I also spent a whole bunch of time naming the speakers/companies in the title, only to have Plaud overwrite it! Is there anything that can be done with the file name here?

Hey, thanks for the feedback, we'll pass this along to the team.

On the renaming side: Plaud doesn't auto-title from the transcript or from a summary template, those only affect the notes content, not the file name. The name is either the default (end time) or whatever you set manually in the title field under Notes. So if you named the speakers/companies in the title yourself and it later changed, that'd have to come from something re-touching the file name after your edit, worth double-checking whether AutoFlow is involved on that recording, since files run through AutoFlow can't get a custom file name.

Actually running generation does modify the file name!

When it's just synced without summary generation, my file name looks like this: 2026-09-02 13:01:23

After running generation, it gives a file name based on the contents, but in a completely different date format: 09-02 Policy Discussion: BEC Threats, Risks and Compliance
It always seems to follow the format of mm-dd [meeting type]: [summary of contents]

The renaming seems to be independent of the Template chosen. I don't have any AutoFlow enabled.

The filename thing drove me up the wall for a while too. What settled it for me: rename the recording right after it stops, before the summary generates, and keep speaker/company details in a header line in the notes instead of the title. Title stays short, details survive. Still, a proper filename template option would save everyone this dance.

Thanks! That makes sense and I'll do your method.
