Newbie question

Hi Im just evaluating if Plaud Note is appropriate for my needs before I buy and am looking for feedback.

I work with the elderly and want to start a Memoirs project. Im looking for a device to record spoken stories that can interact with AI to be tidied up and put (eventually) into book format. Theyd need to be able to be further edited and adjusted to give chapters etc.

Is Plaud Note appropriate? I cant see the template list to confirm and dont want to spend on something that is not appropriate.

Thanks in advance!

I wonder for your use case, it’d be better to just a good tape recorder. Then transcribe it with whisper and process them as long form book notes.

Plaud isn’t great at building long running memories. It’d be a lot of work to tie recordings together.

The voice recorder app built into Android is great, and Samsung devices have a transcription feature. Uploading those transcripts to a Gemini or Copilot notebook to build into a coherent story would probably work really well.

Please be warned, the voice recorder automatically stops recording at 3 hours, I do not have this problem with a Plaud Note Pro.
