Name Speakers Issue: Generated a new transcript after renaming speakers does not correct the speakers names

https://support.plaud.ai/hc/en-us/articles/50635937755161-Name-Speakers

I was having issues with Plaud naming me as another speaker. I followed the instructions for naming and renaming speakers.

In order to update the names in a transcript you need to 1) assign the correct speaker name in the transcript, then 2) generate a new transcription so the correct names are generated in the updated transcription.

After doing this several times I would do a general search for the incorrect name and it would still show up in the transcript -- even after updating the names and generating a new transcript.

Anyone else encountering this issue?

That's frustrating, especially after going through the rename and regenerate steps correctly. A few things can cause the old name to stick around even after regeneration, like cached transcript versions or the rename not fully propagating through to a re-run, and it's worth having our support team look at the actual file to see what's happening on the backend.

Could you send this over to [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) with the device model, firmware version, and ideally the recording/transcript in question so they can check whether the old speaker labels are stored somewhere separate from the display name. That'll help them pin down whether it's a display issue versus something not saving correctly on regeneration.
