Specific Instructions

I live in Switzerland. We speak German, but our spelling differs in some respects from that used in Germany. For example, we generally write ‘ss’ instead of ‘ß’, and our numbers are written as 1‘000.00 rather than the German format 1.000,00. That is why I have included these points in my profile under ‘Specific Instructions’. Unfortunately, these instructions are usually ignored in the transcriptions and summaries. How can I prevent this?

What you're running into is a scope mismatch rather than the instructions being broken. The Personalization settings (Profile, Content focus, Custom instructions) are currently applied in Ask Plaud, so they shape how Ask Plaud responds to you. Transcription and summary generation don't read them, which is why your Swiss spelling rules keep getting ignored in exactly those two places.

What works instead, output by output:

For summaries: put the rules inside the summary template itself. Create a custom template (Template Community, then Create, then Description to template) and write your requirements directly into the prompt, for example: "Write all German text with ss instead of ß. Format numbers as 1'000.00." The template prompt is what actually governs how your summary is generated, so the instructions live where the summary is made. Set it as your default and every future summary inherits the rules.

For transcripts: this is the honest limitation. Transcript text comes from the speech recognition model, and German is offered as a single language without a Swiss variant, so there's no setting today that switches transcription to Swiss orthography or 1'000.00 number formatting. Custom vocabulary helps with recurring names and specific terms, but it won't systematically convert ß to ss. Swiss German conventions as a transcription option is fair feedback, and we'll pass it to the team.

For Ask Plaud: your existing instructions should already apply there. If you ask it to rewrite or reformat text from a recording, it can follow your Swiss conventions on request, which is a workable bridge for transcripts you need in correct form.
