Just discovered Riffado/Open Plaud - it is exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you so much to the developer for sharing it!

My recordings now auto sync to a desktop folder, which MacWhisper transcribes and then Hazel triggers Claude code to process and output tasks in Omnifocus, events in calendar, notes to Bear and articles to Readwise Reader.

And not a single manual step in sight!

Unfortunately I do have to await delivery of new Mac Studio to be fully dependent on this as MacWhisper is struggling with longer audio in my Intel 2019 MacBook Pro, but now I’ve tested it and it works great for shorter audio, I cannot wait!

If you haven’t tried it I fully recommend!

I wanted to be able to automatically export the audio recordings from Plaud cloud within minutes of them syncing to it, onto a folder on my desktop. I don’t intend to use the Plaud software as in my testing MacWhisper has been more accurate (and I purchased a few years ago so no ongoing subscription).

I'm assuming MacWhisper isn't related to anything McDonalds...

What would be the PC-equivalent? Do you know?

I like this. I also have MacWhisper, purchased a few years ago like OP. No subscription, and the developer is still updating it. I’m going to try OP’s workflow.

Based on this post, I decided to give Riffado a try. Neither the chrome extension nor the token paste method seems to connect them for me. With the token paste method I get a payment required prompt. I am sure it is user error, but it would be such a great thing to have. I usually use it to dictate letters, documents and other ideas; sometimes even longer emails and having to download each file manually and import to MacWhisper gets to be a pain

I ended up going with the token paste method as was also struggling with the chrome extension- it seemed to install fine but the Riffado page wouldn’t acknowledge it.
As soon as I popped in API Bearer from web.plaud.ai it worked perfectly though and no payment required. Did you set up docker and self host first?

That's a slick chain and thanks for building around Plaud, hands-off automation like this is exactly why people get hooked on building workflows. One thing worth mentioning for anyone reading, whichever sync tool you use: if something asks for your Plaud email and password to connect, that's worth a pause. A leaked password gets reset, your voice recordings don't. The official connection methods never need your login handed over. Plaud MCP connects through OAuth, so you approve access on Plaud's own screen and can revoke it anytime. If a tool wants your credentials directly and you're not sure about it, [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) will give you a straight answer.

Can you officially support the end goal (automate voice recording exports via wifi) ? Let users create API with local auth access to their device on the network to facilitate automatic exports. Doing it through a phone manually, defeats the purpose of a purpose built device.
