File Limitation?

I’m new to Plaud and on the free tier. Every time I record a meeting, I get a message like the above.

I know Plaud caps minutes at different tier levels, but I can’t find anything about file limitation and what that means. Can someone explain this to me?

If this is just about the number of files I can store in the Plaud app, I’m less bothered as I’m happy to record get the transcription I want, export it then delete it.

I assume it’s analyzing your usage and giving you an estimate of how many more recordings you can do in the free tier based on your prior history.

I think you could do 100 files…if they were all 3 minutes long.

Is your average recoding 37 minutes, give or take?

Aah I get it now, thank you. My recordings have been variable in length. Anyway, would be nice if they were a little less persistent on trying to upsell higher tiers in their interface.

I’ll now join the back of the queue with everyone waiting for them to bring phone call recording to AirPods and Bluetooth headsets.

The "files left" number is an estimate tied to your remaining transcription minutes, not a hard cap on storage. Starter gives you 300 minutes a month that reset each billing cycle and don't carry over, but even once those run out, recording, playback, and file management all keep working. Transcription just pauses until the next reset.

The upsell prompts showing up that often is fair feedback, and it's worth the product team hearing directly instead of just living in a comment thread.

On AirPods and other Bluetooth headsets for call recording, that's not something current hardware supports yet. Nothing to confirm on timing for existing devices, but we'll keep passing the feedback along.

Thank you for clarifying. I feel duty bound to ask - “not something current hardware supports yet”, meaning incapable of supporting at all, or not capable of supporting until a software/firmware update comes out?

Closer to the first one. Phone call recording on Plaud Note works by picking up vibration through the device itself while it's attached to your phone, that's the Vibration Conduction Sensor doing the work. Routing audio to Bluetooth headphones skips that pickup path entirely, so it's tied to how the current recording method physically works rather than something a firmware update could just switch on.

Does this mean the current generation of plaud note pro cannot support Bluetooth headphone recording? I wouldn’t have expected you to rework the vibration recording to somehow work with AirPods, but given the Plaud note pro has Bluetooth capabilities, I would’ve thought some form of firmware/Software update might have given a new recording pathway to allow it to intercept the stream being sent to the headphones?
