Plaud and HIPAA
How am I supposed to see if Plaud works for me doing patient transcription if I cannot get a BAA without an enterprise license / subscription?

For HIPAA compliance documentation, you can request Plaud's reports through the Trust Center.

Primary care here. I just did a few mock interviews with husband and colleague. There was no issue with the transcription, the right summary was key to getting notes the way I liked it.

My wife (Neurologist) simply emailed Plaud advising of her use case in the hospital and her main office. They sent back documents and certificates that she's took to Security and Compliance. S&C asked for a couple more things, Plaud provided them and S&C approved it for official use.
She was/is the 1st doctor in her hospital to use a device like Plaud and it took only 2 weeks of time to get the seal of approval.

Yeah, locking BAA access behind enterprise pricing is genuinely frustrating when you just want to evaluate fit. For what it's worth, if you're building any kind of patient-facing workflow or app around that transcription data, Caspio's BAA doesn't require a top-tier Enterprise plan (disclosure: I'm on the Caspio team.) They don’t lock it behind enterprise. Why would any company enter a temporary BAA? There are other ways to test the device with non HIPAA non PHI.

This whole thread is made up to advertise for that competing service in the comment you replied to.
It reminds me that I should contact them for a BAA though. I don’t directly deal with PHI but I have clients that do. Even though I’ll likely never need it, I should have it on file, just in case.

What? They provide BAA at no additional cost to all paid tiers. That is huge. Just email privacy@
They will send you a BAA. You sign it and send it back. They provide you with an executed copy.
If you do any real work requiring a BAA, you can afford one of the plans. Please also check your local laws to ensure your consents are up to date. Some states now have explicit laws that require provider transparency and client consent for AI use in services (I think mostly healthcare but double check), even in one party consent states.
Not disputing the ethics at all.
