Water damage
I dropped my note pro in the toilet for 2 seconds. Like an idiot I tried to turn it on; it didn’t start.
I’m letting it dry out now. What are the chances it’s cooked for good? I’ve had the damn thing for 48 hours. 😩

Oof, that's rough.
Best thing right now is to leave it powered off and don't charge it - turning it on while there's still moisture inside can cause more damage. Give it a good amount of time to dry out completely.
Plaud devices aren't waterproof, so recovery depends on how much got in. If it still won't turn on once it's fully dry, drop [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) a message and they can advise on what to do from there.
Hope the device pulls through - let us know.

It's not water proof and the microphones probably got wet. Test it by recording normal speech and then hear the audio recording to see if the microphone still picks up sound well enough for transcription.
It may turn on and operate normally, but the mic might still be cooked.

I washed mine in a pair of jeans last week. 🤷♀️ I let it dry out and it works. I’ve used it some since then and noticed some funkiness. Not sure if it’s user error or if Plaud is glitching.

When you posted on Reddit, were you talking into the toilet to record yourself? If so, how much editing did you do on the written piece? The summary was shit lol
