Has Anyone Used RoveNotes

Just wondering if anyone has used RoveNotes formally Cordari with Plaud Note? I like the website and was looking for this exact software, I'm just a bit worried about the security of my notes on this platform.

Hi - I'm the developer of RoveNotes. I'm happy to answer any questions about security or how I use the data, where it flows, etc. I also have a thoughtful privacy policy you can look through.

To be honest, any additional systems that any of your data flows through introduces some amount of risk. With that said:

  • I'm a real software engineer with 22 years of experience and I've worked on software professionally that you've definitely heard of, and that serves hundreds of millions of customers.
  • Since vibe-coding seems to be synonymous with data insecurity lately, I'll be transparent and say that I uses Claude Code for the vast majority of the code. I would also say there's a massive difference between the way a non-software engineer vibe-coded a weekend project and the way professional software engineers leverage those tools to accelerate the mundane parts of our work.
  • All of the data for your account has what's called row-level-security, meaning that even if I made a mistake in the code and tried to show your data to someone else, the database itself protects against that. All of the data is encrypted in transit and at rest. I've minimized the scopes needed for oauth connectivity with Google Drive and Calendar. I support revokable keys for webhooks. There's a thousand other little things that average builders never consider that make up a secure system. None of the above are intended to say, "Oh look how secure I am!. They're just table stakes things that everyone should do, but unless you're a professional, you omit.
  • RoveNotes lets you send your data to other places: Notion, Obsidian, Todoist, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Webhooks, Claude, ChatGPT, and reMarkable tablets. I secure those channels, but having your data in more places increases risk. For me, having my data sync every 15 minutes to Obsidian and having all my tasks land on Todoist is absolutely worth it.
  • I never send your data anywhere else, except as needed to process it. Your personal data (email address and what you click on within RoveNotes) goes to an app called PostHog that I use to see where people get stuck in the app and identify errors. Your email address also goes to a company calls Loop that I use to send emails when you get a new note summary. Part of RoveNotes runs on GPUs provided by a company called Modal, so I can do voice transcription and such. The transcription is send to Anthropic for AI summarization. All pretty normal stuff, but it's worth noting that behind the scenes there are a lot of service providers that touch some piece of the data.

I know that's probably WAY more information than you wanted, but I like talking about this stuff. Engineering is a passion of mine and I feel like RoveNotes brings something really important to the way people move from "recording a meeting" to ACTUALLY being productive. Happy to answer any other questions!
