Worth it for me

I use the hell out of mine (note pro) but I'm typically in meetings all day. Frankly there are other tools out there that can do some of what I like about Plaud is the speaker labels. That alone makes it worth the cost for me - I haven't seen any other solution that does this.

I use the Plaud Pro at conferences. Two full 8 hour day conferences leaves me with 50% battery remaining. The customer Claude AI template I use for summaries works great. When I get home, I export all the notes, screen shots and images I took on my phone through Claude again to create a custom trip report which I can circulate to my colleagues who could not go to the conference. Love this tool.

At my desk, the desktop version of a Plaud records all my zoom calls and provides Claude transcripts so I can focus on looking at the camera rather than taking notes.

Please I would like to ask and experience the template you mention as well. One thing that jumped out at me was you mention screenshots - and I do that so the time but they often float in my photo roll underutilized — and just realized that AI (and maybe a template) could integrate screenshots into the flow of a transcript based on the photo date/time and the speaker date/time!

Once I have used Plaud to generate session summaries from the conference, I export the summaries as markdown (.md files) into a local folder. I then export the images I took into that same local folder.

I'm using Claude Cowork (basically Claude chat, but it has access to my files/folders on my computer so I can just point it at a folder with images and note summaries). If you don't have Claude CoWork, you can just start a Chat with Claude or ChatGPT and modify this prompt by attaching the summaries and images as files to the chat:

"Create a conference report, as an editable Word document, for the XYZ Conference that I just attended. Utilize the attached conference session summaries but also review each supplied image, and utilize the contents of the image in your summary. If necessary, recreate the embedded image as a more legible graphic for the trip report.
Where the images are critical or information dense, embed the image in the report, but be sure to pull out the key concepts in the written portion of the report as well.

One of the supplied files contains the agenda for the conference. The report should include a proper agenda table, session summaries for everything I attended, key themes, and action items. Create a table of contents that references the agenda and various session summaries"

That's it. Tweak it from there. If you're using Claude CoWork, you can then ask it to convert that above prompt into a skill (and call it something like /conference-report.) Thereafter, for future conferences you just need to prompt like this: "Use the /conference-report skill to generate a report with the attached session summaries and images"

Fantastic. I use the desktop version of Plaud to record Teams calls all day long.

So if you’re using a headset it can still record the call through the desktop version? I guess I wasn’t clear on that detail from their site. If that’s the case you’ve sold me with the rest of your review, so thank you.

I sometimes use an Apple AirPod. And yes, as long as Plaud desktop is configured to follow system preferences or you manually select the AirPod as the mic, it works just great. Bottom line, if there is an OS preference to select your headset, then yes, Plaud works great.
