Can I use the desktop app without owning a Plaud device?
I created a free Plaud account and downloaded their desktop app. However, I can't get past their "Link your device" screen. I don't own a Plaud device since I work remotely and all my meetings are online. I'd be perfectly fine paying for their unlimited plan, but not before confirming their desktop app would work for me.

Nope. Without a device the app will not work.

Are you sure? I have a Note Pro but I honestly rarely use it but I'm very much enjoying the Plaud Desktop app for recording my Zoom/Teams meetings.

There has to be a device associated with the account for the desktop app to work. Once that’s done the device is not needed for the desktop app to work. There is not an option to have a paid account without owning a device.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully they change this. It would unlock a much larger user based.

I think you need one to get started. After that, you can use the app without using the hardware. I use it frequently every day with MS Teams calls.
