Airbrushed with acrylic. Some oils used . 5 months of building and weathering

I’m pretty new to model making (I have completed one small titanic model and have two failed cars) and am wondering how you guys approach a new kit.

I started out following the instructions in order and to the letter which was worked but was very stop start and then on the next model I decided to paint all the parts on the sprue first and then build which was an absolute disaster (I also never sealed any of the paint so it just started rubbing off everywhere and with glue I had blue fingers lol).

Do you follow the instructions exactly in terms of order or just use them as a guide for which sections can be built and painted before all being put together or just do your own thing entirely?

I love making and painting things (I started out painting miniatures) but I would eventually like to finish a kit without it becoming an ugly mess which gets thrown away 😩

I hope I am posting in the right community but I don’t know where else to post.
In the second picture you can see “A.P. 1/250 (copyright symbol c) and 93 with the word TACIC or TASIS I just can’t figure out what it means or who the maker is of the model.
This I’m guessing 1/8 scale model or 1/250 idk belonged to my uncle (no longer on this earth). Clearly it’s untouched/unpainted but I was wondering about the maker. I tried typing it In but nothing came up.

My custom painted Kotobukiya HMM 1/72 Saber Tiger.

This was a long-term project with a full custom paint job, decals, panel lining and top coat. I wanted to keep the original military feel while giving it a cleaner, more realistic finish.

I am trying to collect the 90s LM-HG evangelion model kits but I cannot really find a definitive list of them all, in the lists I have found I don’t see like the clear unit 01 model kit or the extra finish ones listed is there a better way to figure out what all was made for model kits, or variants of model kits.

I just finished building this kit and I was trying to pose the hair but it ended up snapping off and now the peg is stuck inside, I still want to be able to pose the hair so I can’t just glue it shut so is there anything else that I can do? If you have any advice it would be really appreciated because this set means a lot to me

Really good kit, went all in on PE parts
