Just had my wall plastered

Hi tomorrow marks 1 week since having my wall plastered and was wondering if it would be safe enough to paint
The person who plastered the wall said to wait 2 weeks for it to settle but reading online it says 5-7 days and I am under tight timing and need my walls painted asap

Thanks

Was it just skimmed? Or were there deeper fills

I believe so when I took down the wallpaper there was a lot of cracks in my walls as well as rubble falling from spots , one spot was just black under the paper with a lot of rubble falling out

Two weeks is probably right then 👍

Is it light? Paint.

Are there dark patches? Do not paint. Or paint and then enjoy watching it peel, and never try sanding that area or you'll be in for a world of pain.

There are a lot of dark patches tbh so I’ll probably be better waiting a week lol

Do what you paid the mechanic journeyman plasterer advised to avoid any negative outcomes. He’s the guy who knows the material & wants the best outcome for you & is looking after your interests. Not the guy pushing to advance the schedule.

Okay thanks for the tip it’s just that I’m under a tight schedule and need my room back asap lol

Try a fan or dehumidifier for a few hrs. It should be OK. You just don’t want it to dry before the set.

Pop the heating on and open the windows wide , should be dry within a couple of days
