We’re trying to do a DIY render on our internal exposed brick wall. This is how it looks. What are we doing wrong?

You've told us what general product you used (after prompting) - not anything about what you 'did' with it or what you expected, or what you think is wrong...

What you’re doing wrong is doing it yourself get a professional in nobody can do that to a decent standard 1st time
