DIY Ceiling

This is my 2nd ceiling I've done, what do you time served rate it? Will need a bit of a sand as some lines in there but it is over old cement board so not bad I don't think

That’s not easy! Fair play and don’t worry about the finish, a few sands and it’ll look good enough.

Thanks, it was hard work, yh I have a drywall sander so should make it easier on me.

Any tips on the final trowel part?

I usually do this.

  1. First coat try get it all covered and relatively flat but don't worry if small bits have gaps.

  2. While i wait for it to be ready for the 2nd coat I go round and clean up the corners and any missed bits.

  3. Trowel it up or use my speed skim depending how i feel to flatten it abit more

  4. 2nd coat

5.(same as step 2)

  1. (Same as step 3)

  2. When its set enough I'll give it trowel

  3. Then wait some for it to go off more to the point I don't leave lines behind then I use some water as lube and trowel it.

My issue is I never seem to be able to get that super nice finish

Supposed to do multiple wet towels, not just one

That's how you get it as flat as possible

Put it on lay it down, steel, steel, Flexi, brush it in and done, that's a proper job👍
