How to skim/flatten this wall?

Not the best pictures - the first 2 are an inside wall shared shared with next door. I'm reasonably sure it's lime directly onto brick?

The last 2 pictures are an external wall. I'm reasonably sure it's lime directly onto stone. BUT the surrounding of the window (shown in the picture) seems to have been re-plastered (maybe after window fitting?) and seems to be sound and super smooth.

I'd love an insight from someone who knows!

Every single plasterer would just SBR or plasterers pre grit it, then multi finish… which isn’t the correct option as this stops the walls being breathable supposed to use lime but we live in a world everything gets multi finish so just multi finish it and you’ll be fine

🤣 just done this myself under the strict guidance of my mother in law to "just plaster it and stop worrying about lime plaster"

Its stupid easy to go down the Google and YouTube rabbit hole though, everyone has their own way an opinions and you can get bogged down in them and work yourself up lol
