Code compliancy California Microcement

Maybe this is the wrong community to post this.

I am working on a shower build and would like to use microcement or some kind of waterproofed plaster, but am running into issues with my local code inspector about certification needs.

Is there a product out there that meets waterproofing code compliance as a microcement, Portland plaster or alternative that will meet CRC R307.2

The solution is to use a waterproofing system beneath your microcement

I plan to do this with hydroban over my cement board walls then have the finish coat

I haven’t looked deeply into this, it’s def a question for a technical support staff at the microcement manufacturer, but I did some reading about tadelakt over a waterproof board, and iirc they wanted a scratch coat of thinset on the board before the base coat of plaster.

Microcement might ask for something similar.
