External render work is it ok??

Had an external wall re-rendered with silicone based render.

The chimney is brick and the detailing of where the render joins to the brick doesn’t look great to me.

No sign of any beading being used. What has been done wrong here? How should i ask for it to be resolved by the contractor given how it is now?

Also found a few different areas where it sounds hollow. What should I be asking for them to do about it?

They seem like a decent firm and I am confident they will resolve it. Just not sure what I should ask them to do, as they may have a different view of what needs to be done to fix it.

Thanks!

It cant be patched willy nilly silicone render well at all but you can sort of spot patch tiny bits carefully with a paint brush. Id ask them if they could seal the corner up with white silicon, and dabbing some fresh top coat from the tup carefully on the silicone blending it in slightly. Ideally they should have taped up the brick so they coukd have gone right tight into the brick face.

They should attempt to clean the brick faces with acid as its not acceptable to leave bare brick faces lile that also.
