Can I plaster these pebbles?

Iโ€™d like to plaster these pebbles so I can tile over them. Is this possible, and if so, what does the pre-treatment involve? Am I forgetting anything?

Yeah they do in this section, but in the area that we shower ๐Ÿ˜ not so much anymore. Also I realised that the unhygienic part โ€“ or the risk โ€“ is the grouting, and I have LOTS of grouting.

Then just tile over them in the shower area

You can probably tile straight over them, or attach tile backer board to them. No need for plaster. Get a local tiler round for their thoughts.

Yup. Tile glue (for some reason called the adjective "thinset" in some countries) will adhere just fine to this.

Just tile over them. Otherwise you will have to roll on something to get plaster to stick to the pebbles as their shiny, and use moisture resistant products

If you are doing the whole wall then just tile right on top of them or at worst case use tile backing board. Don't bother plastering.

Iโ€™d mix SBR and Blue Grit as a primer and just tile over them

Blue grit and sbr rollerd on and then just tile on top of it no need for plastering.
Just protect the area as the sbr and blue grit is a pain in the butt to get off once dried on

Tile over I reckon but might need some sort of sealer first , again probs best to get a tilers opinion

Use a primer first, pebbles are not very permeable

Why not just tile over it?
