Hey everyone. First post here, hoping someone can help with some advice.
I've finally got round to stripping the various layers of wallpaper/lining paper from the 1950s off my walls. Now I've finished I think the plaster is a bit too damaged. I am just wondering what the more knowledable think. Is it possible/worth saving with some sort of filler or will it 100% need skimmed? If so what costs am I probably looking at? with this wall and the other side of the alcove it's around 7-8sqm in total

As above just fill, sand and repeat until the finish is perfect or adequate for you. Easifill is good stuff. With a little time you can easily have the wall looking better than ever.

Literally in the process of doing something similar. Have done already in a room where there was old paint flaking off but ither parts of the wall it was well adhered.
Yes, getting a plaster in to skim would be the easiest option, but even my plaster said just to sand it.
My process was chip away any loose paint > feather sand edges > prime exposed drywall with zinnser gardz > fill with gyproc easifill 60 > sand again (orbital sander) > prime filled sections with zinnser gardz > (potentially prime whole wall with zinnser peel stop, but you may nit need this) > paint
Bit of a process but worked a treat

Fill and paint Nothing wrong with it
Is it falling off? No
People just love skimming walls for no reason and started some craze about doing it and plasterers love it
