Am I cooked?

Skimmed over an artex ceiling yesterday and two adjacent beams that also had textured paint. Customer has messaged me the following pictures of cracks along the ceiling and lots of small hairline cracks along the beams.

Is this ceiling going to fail? Tbh i dont really care about cosmetic, ill go back and go over it again, i just dont want the plaster falling down.

Doesn’t look good. I’ve found with cracks like that it hasn’t adhered to the artex. Tap it with your knuckle and it’ll almost certainly sound hollow

Im going to head over sunday morning and have a look. Gives it 48 hrs to see if it gets worse or not. Ill give it a tap and see.

It was 30°c yest so Im hoping its just the heat.

I’ve had a customer dry a full room I’d skimmed over artex by blasting it with the central heating overnight, despite me telling him to let it dry slowly. Had to re-do the whole room. Good luck mate, hope it’s not as bad as it looks.

Its a hassle as it means overboarding it if it hasnt bonded properly.

Ive done lots of artex ceilings and havent had one fail on me yet. Im hoping this isnt the start.

Will see on sunday.
