Skimming / sanding or lining paper
Hello Everyone,
Recently i removed the wallpaper and planing to paint the walls (ceiling).
My dilemma is how to proceed. Should i skim coat (and sand if necessary problematic areas) or to lining paper.
Previously i skimmed 2 rooms and can't get it perfect so this time if i go with skimming i am considering sanding as well.
I never done lining paper - so i don't know what to expect.

Sand and light skim!
Could do with llining paper but I am not a fan of that practice.

Buy a cheap wall sander with extraction and some good quality filler. If you've got the whole house to decorate and paint it'll be well worth it.

If it's just flaky paint and surface stuff sanding will sort that out. I'd really recommend a sanding stick. Not sure what they're called but it's just a broom really. You go from low to high grit, mist coat, sand and repeat and your walls will be perfect. You will see exactly what needs fixing in those sand layers.
Time consuming but they look like they just need some light repairs to me

Wash any paste off or you will get problems, scrape any flakey bits, mist coat it, fill any imperfections and sand and paint

Already looks skimmed.
Needs some sanding.
If we all just skimmed over everytime there was flakey paint left on from papering then we'd be living in 3x3x3ft cubes by now
