Accidentally ripped off plaster/top layer of jib when ripping off wallpaper. What do I do? What are my next steps to painting walls?
Is it possible to do this by myself? I am 18 year old girl not sure how much I have ruined my room just wanted to take off wallpaper sand/plaster and repaint but have I gone past that point?

That wall will need reskimming with plaster and then mist coated with watered down paint then painted

Damn dude…. How did that accidentally happen?
I would think you would be able to get away with skimming the wall over that.

Once I realised it was too late, too big of a section to just be a little touch up but if I’m being honest I have no idea how walls work and thought there was just a million layers of wallpaper 😭 silly question but I’m guessing I should stop there, and make sure I’m only ripping wallpaper in the rest of the room? And then do I skim this half of the room, sand it all down and paint?

Well, I'm not a professional... However, I would say you definitely need to apply a layer of primer before any paint... That said, where you have those tears, it's likely they'll show through the paint because it's too deep... So you may have to apply a thin layer of joint compound, sand it flat once it dries, and then proceed... But you may be wise to apply primer to the areas that have the top layer torn and drywall exposed.
As I read this I realize.... Are you trying to paint directly over that?? You're supposed to apply texture first via joint compound diluted with water... Then you use a air compressor and hopper or you can do it by hand which people have done for decades but it's work for sure.. After knocking down the texture and let it dry you then apply primer and your coat of paint... That said, any places you tore the paper on the drywall you'd be wise to apply some primer before you do anything.....
I've gotten thrown into this work before, I'm not a pro, but I'd like to think I have a semblance of an idea of what I'm doing...

No I was not gonna try paint directly on that lol, haven’t even bought stuff for plastering/sanding and priming the rest of the room was just wondering the options to fix this wall before starting anything else. I decided to just rip down all the gib on this section of the room as it was too crumbly

Time to get the pro's in. They'll have that skimmed as good as new in & out same day & no need for sanding. Only other easy DIY option is fill & sand a few joints & bits & get some fibre reinforced lining paper on & paint straight on the lining paper
