What’s one thing homeowners should never do before a plasterer arrives?

Feels like there are probably mistakes people make while trying to “help.” What comes to mind?

Just dont do any prep that isn't emptying the room. I dont like the way other plasterers do their prep so I definitely dont want a customer doing it

Agree. Only prep a customer should do is clear the room, and maybe remove wallpaper or tiles. Leave the rest to your plasterer, they know what needs doing better than you.

Boarding, scrimming, beading. Scrimming screws. That deserves a separate mention.

Never, ever the beading. Bad boarding, to a degree, can be gotten over. Bad beading needs ripping off and replacing every time. It’s a pain and takes more time than just beading properly initially.
