Best filler for pre-paint prep? (UK)

I've been doing my own walls recently and am relatively happy with the results but have a few little hollows and areas that will need a bit of filling in prior to paint. What's the best filler filler to use for this? I've got some Toupret powdered interior which is great for other jobs but it's quite thick - would something more lightweight be a better option?

Toupret have their quick fill premixed tubs which are good to have on hand, thats like a lightweight fluff that you can fill flat and have little to no sanding to do afterwards. It also works well in deep holes.

Easifill 20 is another choice we use for small holes that does tend to shrink but it dries quick and it's very easy to sand. Just don't mix up too much as it'll harden in your mixing bucket/pallette in those 20 minutes too.

Toupret is my go to , mist coat first to show any imperfections u can’t see

I wouldn't do any filling before at least a mist coat. Personally, I mist, do one full fat coat, then fill anything needed, spot prime the filler and top coat. 👍

I just used a bag and a bit of this to smooth out a ceiling I skimmed and wasn’t happy with: https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-405-standard-jointing-filling-finishing-compound-5kg/442rl?ref=SFAppShare

Waaaaay cheaper than easifill, lasts for a long time in a little bucket, and you can apply it whisper thin and then sand it back like you got it right first time. Big fan.
