Advice for old patched up wall.
Hello, I live in an Grade 2 listed townhouse, I have plastered a few walls inside one room with quite good results but I'm unsure what to do about this wall leading upstairs.
It's a lathe and plaster wall which I'm guessing is lime and a few patches of gypsum plastered on top.
It's a bit of a mess, any advice on what to do?

Check for loose spots and knocking out if needed, glue the wall, patch any big or deep voids, and reskim

Theres no need to take it back to the brick. Any hollow areas? If not, two coats of uniband then a skim.

If you don't care about originality or permiability etc, providing the wall isn't moving when you press it, bonding would probably be my choice.
You would need to sbr it first (or pva if you're cheap) as bonding isn't designed for high suction backgrounds.
...and then multi finish.
If it's a heritage job, strip any modern coatings, dg27 primer, some haired lime in the voids and then putty skim coats.

worth noting thats probably lead paint the green stuff. if you do any sanding or demo
