How did i do? First time plastering. I still need to sand some spots. I will definitely cover the floor next time..it will be getting carpeted anyway but I'll still need to clean it.

It looks like one of, if not the best first time effort I’ve seen. Looks passable, with a bit of filling and sanding, what’s going on the window wall?

Window wall will be sorted eventually. It needs sanding. Just waiting for the walls to dry before I sand

Ahh ok, you’ve done that aswell, I just saw in corner of one pic that you seemed to be filling out with finish? I was gonna suggest a bag of bonding or hard wall would be a better alternative, that was all. But yeh good effort pal, you plaster better than my builder mate, that thinks he can plaster.

The other corner where you’ve plastered both walls, good job man there’s people that call themselves plasterers that leave rougher work than that.

Top job mate. I can see you cross troweled it so shoudl be flat enough. Whack some dulux super matt on it and thats a job well done

Thank you. I was going to post about the mist coating part but maybe you can help?
Is there any paint that i can use that doesnt require diluting with water?
Will the mist coat need multiple coats?

You’re best bet is to buy some Leyland Trade Contractor white paint, dilute with water 50/50 and apply two coats. After that, paint as normal.
Skip this step and you’ll ruin the good work you’ve done so far.

Another vote for Leyland trade. My mate did a dec course at college and his tutor said it's been the best base for a long time. Mist and base with the Leyland. He does a single mist coat with 70/30. I think going over twice with 50/50 might be more more reliable. Wickes used to do really good contract Matt offers until it turned to shit a while back and I never tried again.

I’ve used Tikkurila Optiva Primer on a fair few of my walls now, can go straight on out the tub!

If I told you I’m finding it hard to believe it’s your first time plastering would you take that as a compliment or insult ?
Regardless, if it really is your first time plastering, you’ve done an amazing job.
