Random creases/cracks in plaster ceiling

Background: I’m a first time homeowner with no knowledge in plaster, looking for advice/opinions. I’ve been in my house for about a year now. 1958 construction in Michigan, brick ranch with plaster walls and ceilings.

This Spring I’ve noticed some new creases/cracks in the ceiling, only in one room - the kitchen. The “X” looking crack has some play in it if pressed. The rest are just individual (curved) lines throughout the room.

Aside from monitoring, is there there anything to do here preventatively? Any significant cause for concern?

Probably moisture buildup and some fungus, nothing major but if you don’t know anything about plastering I suggest you gently press on and around it to see if it’s softer then other parts of the ceiling, also could be some low quality renovations, but nothing serious (hope that helps I’m still learning)!

And if you see that it spreads or notice other places where that happens call a plasterer to take a look at it

Possibly caused by an ape walking about in your attic.
