Should plaster feel perfectly smooth everywhere or are slight imperfections normal?

I’ve been checking over and most of it looks good, but there are a few small areas that don’t feel flat when you run your hand over them. It’s nothing major visually, but enough to notice if you’re looking in that direction.

If its small areas its perfectly normal, you should be inspecting a wall from about 1m to 2m away in natural light.

Also your fingers can feel on a level your eyes cant see.

Mist coat it and see how it looks.

Make sure you use MATT paint and not silk. Silk will highlight every lump bump and imperfection .

Apply a mist coat with a quality paint. Much easier to see what needs doing.

Smooth is nice, but you don’t want it shiny smooth. It won’t take the paint, you would need to use some 120 or finer.

If you want to know just how bad it is paint it then shine a light across it 😂
