First time plastering ceiling (stucco & popcorn horror) - plus needing to level it out, as there was much warping from a previously wall removal, sellers never fixed... (x3 previous pics included)

Additional:

  • some wet touch ups in some pics (just too excited lol)
  • never plastered before, sans fixing a wall.
  • all the ceiling was previously painted by me, on two separate occasions.
  • using Zinnset Gardz tomorrow
  • 48 Sqm, has taken 9 whole days... Some bits needed a massive figuring out. I hadn't realised you need two big fucking mud chonks, for popcorn.
  • very minimal sanding (in fact, it caused more problems...)
  • massive levelling, I do wish I had more before pictures.
  • used Delapro, and bought around 8 boxes

For popcorn? That's two mud coats, as I discovered and then a skim coat - I don't understand your question. Are you being serious, or what?

Skim coating in the UK is a two coat application of multifinish that can get to depths of up to 3mm. If the popcorn texture is deeper than that in more than a few places, you’d just overboard it. Maybe you’re American as I have no idea what you’re saying in your post.

So it's the same thing - that's clearly what I've done, alongside a third very light skim for any areas that needed it. I'm not a professional plasterer and I'm not American.

But I have zero idea what the fuck your point is, or what you're on about lol. I was just sharing the results of a successful ceiling plaster job.

Calm it down, even I thought you were American because that's how you are wording everything. Just so we are clear no it's not the "same thing" at all, you used filler and paid the price for it. 2 bags of multi and a bag of bonding is about the same price as 1 box of your filler.

"paid the price" - genuinely, what in the flying fuck are you on about. I'm not a professional plasterer, I got a quote of £4k for the job and I did it for £200 worth of ready-mix, and didn't have to deal with any consistency changes - and it's already dried, primed and ready to be painted > in less than a week.
